There is no winning when it comes to money. It's only a question of how little you can lose.

Companies slashed wages and fired enough people to fight back inflation. Yay! Praise the lord.

NO and when it does there will be a giant crash in house prices

Inflation only benefits who spend and hope for returns, like stocks. It never ends up benefiting the common person. The higher the inflation, the higher the desire to not save money. It used to be considered a good thing to save money for future expenses. Honestly, we need around 1 to 2% deflation for a few decades. Will it hurt stocks? Technically yes. Will it mean you can buy more with less? Also yes.

Hi, can you please do a video on seigniorage. It baffles me and how it works with inflation. How did the Aus govt go from usually making around 60 million a year in profits to around a billion during the pandemic?

Keeping your job still doesn't help. Your employer may not give you a raise or if they do it won't keep up with 7%. So you still lose especially if you don't have the option to find a new jobs

I think government through history experiencing inflation and knowing how to help end it has helped in slowing inflation down

  10. Pseudo Prophet

Inflation may come back tomnormal levels but prices won't fall down, and even if they do that still won't be a good news going ahead because the recession is coming. ( Already here, but some people refuse to admit it for political gains.)

Guys in this video the "world" refers to North America and Australia.
And also World Bank and IMF saying that 80sth% of the world will be living under some sort of austerity measures should put into context whether this "optimism" EE guy is talking about actually stands on firm ground.

By many metrics for most people in the world, 2023 looks like a difficult year jumping into it.

the thing with all these economic theories and what not they only exist because we choose to make them exist. we can have a fixed rate currency if we wanted but that doesnt help the rich get richer
