As the 2024 college football season approaches, all eyes are on the Oregon Ducks and their new head coach, Dan Lanning. Lanning, who was previously the defensive coordinator at Georgia, has brought a renewed sense of excitement and optimism to the Oregon football program.
The Ducks are coming off a successful 2023 season in which they finished with a 10-3 record and a victory in the Alamo Bowl. With the return of several key players, including star quarterback Bryan Johnson, expectations are high for Oregon as they look to compete for a Pac-12 championship and potentially a spot in the College Football Playoff.
One of the main reasons for the hype surrounding the Ducks this season is Lanning’s reputation as a defensive mastermind. During his time at Georgia, Lanning helped lead one of the top defenses in the nation, and many believe he can bring that same level of success to Oregon.
In addition to Lanning, the Ducks have a talented roster that is led by Johnson, who is entering his senior season. Johnson is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the country and is poised to have a breakout season under Lanning’s guidance.
On the defensive side of the ball, Oregon boasts a number of playmakers, including standout linebacker Justin Thomas and defensive back Marcus Green. With Lanning’s defensive expertise, the Ducks are expected to be a force to be reckoned with on that side of the ball.
Despite the hype surrounding the Ducks, there are still some questions marks heading into the season. Oregon will need to navigate a tough schedule that includes matchups against traditional powerhouses like Ohio State and USC. In addition, the Ducks will need to improve their consistency on offense and avoid costly turnovers if they hope to make a run at a conference title.
Overall, the hype surrounding Oregon football with Dan Lanning is certainly warranted. The Ducks have the talent and coaching staff to compete at a high level this season, and fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the season. Only time will tell if Oregon can live up to the lofty expectations, but one thing is for certain – the Ducks are a team to watch in 2024.
Of course their worth the hype. It's your podcast stupid. An Oregon podcast. They should be number 1 in recruiting, coaching, and ranking. Woo hoo. Nerds.
Spencer you are under estimating how good Dillon is going to mesh into this Oregon offense. Currently I think his heisman odds are third in the country only behind Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck. Yes he isn’t going to be some high draft pick because of his size and frame but from his experience and film I wouldn’t be surprised if he also had a 4000 yard season.
looks like rashaad samples will be Oregons next running backs coach for 2024..what do we think?
