Thursday October 13th we will finally get Septembers CPI read. And I remember last month everyone thought Augusts would be lower, yet it wasn’t by much and core CPI went up.

There was a lot of indicators to suggest CPI was downtrending and hence it wasn’t true. So question is, will the upcoming CPI read be any good?

Has inflation (CPI) peaked ?

Next month it will be compared to October 2021 which is when it started spiking. Also the people who literally had no electricity and couldn’t drive due to the hurricane will be priced in. So I think the fake dip you are looking for comes next month.

housing info. I’ve been too lazy to gather some. Housing is the key shit again. The other shit components are not making much noise anymore

September has lower Commodities, wages, manufacturing ,housing so far. Why are most people forecasting a bad cpi ?

Low unemployment and high service inflation outweighs the above !?!

It doesn’t matter the Fed isn’t going to pivot based on one months CPI.

Staples like milk, bread and eggs are up from last month (from local Walmart) with gas being hit by the OPEC+ production cut. My guess is that it’s going to come in hot again. This is just from me watching my grocery bill.
