In a scathing attack on the Republican Party, former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, an Obama appointee, has called out the GOP for their “economic fraud” and for not being “smart” in their handling of the economy.

The comments came in response to a tweet from President Joe Biden touting the current state of inflation and the economy.

“It’s time for us to recognize the economic fraud that the Republican Party has been perpetrating on the American people,” Bernanke wrote. “The GOP has failed to recognize the need for fiscal stimulus and has instead pursued policies that have been detrimental to economic growth.”

Bernanke went on to point out that the current administration has implemented fiscal policies that have been “smart” and have contributed to the current low inflation and economic growth. He added that the Biden administration “deserves credit” for its economic prowess.

The former Fed Chairman’s comments come as the Biden administration is facing increasing criticism from the GOP over its handling of the economy. Republicans have argued that the current administration’s policies have been too costly and have failed to create jobs.

For its part, the Biden administration has defended its policies, arguing that they have been effective in creating jobs and stimulating the economy.

In any case, Bernanke’s comments are a clear sign that the GOP is not happy with the current state of the economy and the Biden administration’s policies. It remains to be seen if the GOP will be able to make a case for their economic policies or if the Biden administration will be able to continue its current streak of economic success. #PTFB
