So the only thing the Republicans got from the "deal" is they took away food from poor people? I know many Republicans hate the poor, but I support feeding people who can't afford food no matter the reason. If they're drug addicts, mentally ill, don't have a car, former or current criminals, people who suffered misfortune, whatever, I think the government should feed them. Go after food stamp fraud, but leave the real poor alone. How much money did this concession actually save from the overall deficit?
I'd be interested in eliminating the $20,000 student debt forgiveness for people who make $125,000 a year or $40,000 for couples who make $250,000 a year. What about the $500 a night hotels for thousands of illegal immigrants? The billions going to the corrupt Ukrainian government? The money laundering "Inflation reduction act," Fraudulent covid business loans? The money going to the Chinese to exploit child labor in Africa to make solar batteries? Why pick on poor American citizens who get like $150 a month?
Oh yeah, and they have to wait another year to hire 87,000 IRS agents, but they still get the money.
Still the debt cap is lifted $4 trillion.
McCarthy and the Republicans should be ashamed.
