Howdy guys, my name is Attorney Walter Rudolph Hnot, III. New Jersey born, MBA, JD, Master Mason and a tireless advocate for the homeless and low income who are seeking disability benefits. It’s simple, if you are within the law’s requirements for disability benefits, you get a check every month, and health insurance. No, it doesn’t include a new iPhone, house or cool car, but, with your SSI/SSDI disability backpay, you can potentially get those things…with your own disability money :-). I created this channel because of how many crazy things I was hearing out in the general public on how this system works. I did library seminars, academia seminars, food truck seminars (which I prefer), etc…The online video platform is the best way to reach the majority of you guys.

Major 2024 Social Security News

The year 2024 has brought some significant changes and updates to the Social Security program in the United States. From adjustments to benefit amounts to new policies and programs, here are the major 2024 Social Security news updates that you need to know.

Benefit Increase

One of the most significant pieces of news regarding Social Security in 2024 is the increase in benefit amounts for retirees and other beneficiaries. The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2024 saw a 5.9% increase in benefits, the largest in almost four decades. This increase is due to rising inflation and is intended to help beneficiaries keep up with the cost of living.

New Policies and Programs

In 2024, the Social Security Administration has introduced several new policies and programs to help improve the overall system. One such program is the expansion of online services, allowing beneficiaries to manage their Social Security accounts, apply for benefits, and access important information and resources online. Additionally, the SSA has implemented new policies aimed at streamlining the application process for disability benefits and expediting claim reviews.

Solvency Concerns

Despite the positive developments in 2024, the issue of Social Security solvency remains a concern. The program’s trust funds are projected to be depleted by 2034, which could lead to a significant reduction in benefits for future retirees if no action is taken to address the shortfall. As such, there has been increased focus on the need for policy reforms and potential solutions to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Social Security program.

Potential Legislative Changes

In 2024, there has been ongoing discussion and debate in Congress regarding potential legislative changes to the Social Security program. Some proposals include raising the retirement age, adjusting the calculation of benefits, and increasing payroll taxes to shore up the program’s finances. While no specific legislation has been passed as of yet, it is clear that Social Security reform will continue to be a key issue for policymakers in the years to come.

Looking Ahead

As we move further into 2024, the future of Social Security remains uncertain. While the recent benefit increase and new policies are positive developments for beneficiaries, the underlying solvency concerns and potential for legislative changes loom large. It is crucial for individuals to stay informed about the latest news and developments regarding Social Security and to plan for the potential impact on their future retirement income.

In conclusion, 2024 has brought significant news and updates to the Social Security program in the United States. From benefit increases to new policies and ongoing solvency concerns, it is clear that Social Security will continue to be a major issue for both policymakers and beneficiaries in the years ahead. It is essential for individuals to stay informed and stay involved in the discussions surrounding the future of Social Security.

What about all those currently receiving SSI & SSDI & making big money under the table. They are not going to stop & there are many. I personally know several who are making 100K under the table & receiving rent subsidy, free cell phones, free electric, food cards, food banks & on & on. I know these ppl personally. I know one gal who spent a 12.5 million inheritance on drugs & the taxpayers are paying to house her in a nursing home bcuz she fried her brain ( her choice) on drugs. When does it ever stop ?

  3. @veemagnified

They need to keep us in a constant state of emergency to claim bankruptcy and continue making money from your social security trust leaving you with bread crumbs. Seriously some of these comments are sad to read. If you still believe what the news say and support the double standard and the divide & conquer agenda they create out of thin air – don’t feel so patriotic. You know nothing about there you are . Per 31 CFR 1010.100 – what is UNITED STATES? Start with that and follow THOSE BREADCRUMBS. Learn their words, their written laws and READ its definitions. This is not for the lazy, and neither is their future.

The biggest problem is making disabled people live far below the poverty level yet rich people are collecting huge benefits!

  5. @user-jw4hb5sk8z

    Means tested.

Get paid what you paid in…then stop unless something critical. Did Berkshire Hathaway's Charlie Munger get it? He was 200 years old and super rich. Warren Buffet?

Charles Koch or any billionaires who try to subvert our democracy?

    Means test.

It’s a form, just a form to voluntarily hold future annuity…too rich to need it, check here.

How can I talk to you I'll pay

  7. @Davidjohnson-zd3bk

I don't trust or believe anything biden says!! He's a lier and theif!!!!

  8. @michaelbutler4117

All I have to say is go away to another country & get on their benefits system. It’s much better, plus some European countries like France treat their disabled population much better than American politicians do. And not to mention that the cost of living in Europe is much cheaper than America or even Canada, although the Canadian welfare system is better than the American one & they let you spend your C$1,600 (about $1,200) monthly welfare money on anything you want. It may not be much, but there are better places in the world to live in besides America because this country is going down the tubes. So get that passport ready once orange guy Trump comes to power on January 20, 2025 because most likely he’ll hire Commissioner Saul again & do away with Commissioner O’Malley. I’m thinking about going to France to be with my boyfriend because same sex marriage is better there than here in America.

The government should stop supporting drug dealers (Walgreens, cvs ext.

  10. @JBDODSON1999

Social security should have consultants that only answer to citizens and no government heads.

  11. @JBDODSON1999

    Working could improve the situation.

  12. @JBDODSON1999

Over payments does not make sense. Working adds to the tax base. The more work, the more tax.

  13. @daveknowshow

You could have paid into SS but if you failed to pay within the last 5 years before filing for disability you do not get SSDI you only get SSI. If you paid 1 dollar into it within the prior 5 years to applying for SSDI they SSA will go back 10 years and look at what you paid in. So for me I was sick for many years prior to being put on disability. I was unable to work so I just begged and borrowed to get by until I fell out bleeding and the hospital ER said “it’s no wonder you feel so bad you have cancer and have had it for a very long time”. Now every year I’m on SSI my SS goes down due to not paying in. By the time I’m 62 or 65 or 70 my social security will be far less than my SSI.

  14. @svor1988

In the context of family planning I think without market controls fostering stability the birth rate is going to be below replacement rate out of necessity. Less people born means less paying into the SS trust fund. Fostering immigration to make up for the shortfall leaves bad policy harming the birth rate unaddressed IMO.
Three times now watching your videos YouTube played an advert for voting yes to rent control in California.

Sounds like a Shit show to me !!!!

  16. @SpongeAddict-gw6mo

When they gave me a social on birth certificate I should be able to collect later in life end of story. If you do not have a number you do not pass go or collect $200 lol

  17. @bulbman7080

Would be interesting to know you're opinions with Americans that's on SSDI & Workers Compensation!

  18. @romaurer

I have son with Schizophrenia. He is med compliant and wants to work.
The biggest barrier is he would loss his insurance, which keeps him healthy. It's a vicious cycle.

  19. @Slick64

We really need our own medical exams. To many people get own doctors or psychiatrists.

  20. @steelersbensteelersfan7794

Why did I get a check on Dec 1 rather than the normal time which is the second Tuesday of the month will I be getting other check on that Tuesday please let me know thank you for all your videos

  21. @nozmo3678

Stop giving it to immigrants that have never worked a day of their lives in the US! One moves here and grandma and grandpa automatically get social security from the day they step off the boat!

  22. @Thomas.Hacker

Translation and Subtitles? I can understand this, but many of my friends don't can it…

  23. @wordswords2094

Not one of these will ever come to light because they make so much good sense. If you could just find a way to obfuscate things further, now THAT would be passed into law!

  24. @eleanorgough9517

I have 2 suggestions that would cure the problem. 1. You must be a citizen to receive SSA, SSDI or SSI. 2, Return the draft,.

  25. @aceman3577

    Biden will fuckup social security

  26. @eblessed1962

I love your videos ! I pray rules do change especially for disabled people to be able to work and not be afraid of going over the SGA due to June and Sept. Having 3 pay periods its absurd their calculations !

  27. @tafiti4z

The Social Security,is in trouble because Congress has been stealing our insurance for their own personal spending.Stop them from touching Social Security at all.

  28. @sonjae09

We don't want to hear what could happen we want to hear what is going to happen to SSA IN 2024..

  29. @Rhaenyra112AC

Let's not forget though , if a person is both physically and mentally disabled , then it is much harder for SSDI to say they are not disabled enough because they can be having a great day mentally and a really bad one physically and vice versa . Yet there are diehards out there who seem to think that if you can eat food and breath oxygen that you are not disabled .

  30. @rubdown8

There is roughly $3.2 BILLION dollars in the US of unclaimed lottery winnings. Just a thought, why not deposit the money from tickets that have expired the length of time in which it can be claimed, into the SSA? It just sits & collects interest, when it could be solving serious financial problems for the Elderly & Disabled.

  31. @dn7783

    There is no dream

  32. @DitDot55

Most people who are disabled would prefer to have work and a purpose. Trust one who has lived this.

  33. @DitDot55

❤ Martin O'Malley would do well to hire you on as his consultant! ❤

  34. @nancymcinally

Your ideas seem sound. Hope someone in charge hears your suggestions. Thank you!
