Filipinos living in some places of the Philippines that has no foreigners will stared at you because they wonder why you would wanna be in this poor part of the world. We Filipinos are so ashamed of ourselves. We barely get by day by day. So therefore when we see foreigner in our neighborhood we feel happy at the same time ashamed of our living situation. Happy specially when a foreigner is white because they are good looking like Jusus Crist walking.
Love the video. Been coming to the Philippines since our honeymoon in 1977. I had initial problems with being stared at and being called "Joe" when I'm actually a Brit. However, once the kids arrived, the pressure was off me and all the attention went to them which they loved. It's a great place to stay and I would love to live there 6 months a year. Hey Cap, I hope you're doing well healthwise, mate.
Happy to see a lot of foreign people now is behaving to choose to live in our country..
There's still a lot didn't know how to live a simple life yet
the freedom of luxury life can still be experienced here,, So glad that people like you embrace our culture, most especially the weather,,, so sad that climate change erased what Filipinos enjoying during
Christmas season,,, it's to cold
here when December has come.,as if there was a snow
fall like in your country,,,, GOD BLESS you guys, and take care.
Don't hesitate to ask for a help
if needed a Filipino generosity.
We never asked for a change or
payment unless you did,,,,
Proud of you, live your life to the fullest and be happy….life is short and I am planning…..I was in the country 1975 and 2016….love it
Living a dream that’s all we strive for in life.
Think of the looks I get when I land my JetRanger helicopter near a province and explore on foot, handing out 1000 notes as good will. Nope not all expats are poor.
Nice stories about how you foreign retirees decided to live in the Philippines and being like a Pilipino.
Wish australia allows pensioners to live in the other country, unfortunately you're just allowed to live out of the country for 6weeks,more than that you're pension will be cut off.

God bless.
Retiring in the Phil is the best thing u did! Cheap and they will take care of u. Or u can stay in the USA at convalescent center
MRI tests and CT scan in the Philippines is just almost 50$ and in U SA it’s $5k
has to, living in meriKa probably the whole west is HELL. TH probably better.
I may travel to your city next year with a Filipina I know who lives in Canada when she visits her aunt there. I've been to Olongapo (Navy) in the early to mid 80s, so looking forward to seeing how developed it's become, plus looking forward to the sights, sounds, smells, and hopefully the food I remember.
Awesome
Cool guy
Glad to hear another similar accent there. I hope to be there soon in Mindinao. Blue eyes is why they stare. The food is wonderful. I had the same experience with foreigners there but I eventually figured out they were most often European and Aussies and we can only imagine what nefarious things they might be there for. Everytime I tell someone here in the states that I have a Filipina fiancee I immediately in the same breath feel obligated to tell them she's not in her 20's, she is in her 60's just like me. 47 years as an industrial electrician and more aches and pains than one could imagine and my knees are shot and will eventually need to be replaced. SRRV is my next step.
ALL I CAN SAY IS IT'S MORE FUN LIVING HERE IN OUR COUNTRY,, THE PHILLIPPINES….. I THOUGHT IT IS MORE CHEAPER HERE THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY….I SAW A LOT OF FOREIGNERS HERE EASYLY BUYS A HOUSE AND LOT WHEN THEY CHOSED TO STAY HERE FOR GOOD MOSTLY THE PENSIONERS….I SAW IN A VIDEO IN A RICH COUNTRY LIKE AMERICA. THAT THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE SEEMS HELPLESSLY JUST LIVING IN THE STREETS WITHOUT A HOMES??? AND MOST VIOLENT THERE AS IF SÒMEBODY HARASSING ASIANS….
Good thing for ypu Sir, I am also want to go back to the Philippines. As soon as I get
medically good I go there and stayed there for good. Spmetimes go around the Philippines
and explored different Island.
When a foreigner is old and retired and handicapped, then maybe the Philippines is for him. It is not for someone healthy and young enough to travel. Not for an American who has a home that is paid for in the USA. Not for someone who has lifelong friends, relatives and is financially stable.
New subscriber and hope you enjoyed in our country. Watching from baguio city
I was smiling the whole time O was watching. Very nice. Wish to retire back home soon. Fil-Am from IL.
You don't see any Chinese are poorer than Filipinos because. Chinese people support their own kind. not like Filipinos, mostly politicians they don't support fellow Filipinos but of course they steal money from Govt. funds and going to their pockets !! every single one of them. they all corrupt for own interest.!!
Great interview guys, two interesting friends having a chat. Philippines is an interesting country, but it is way too backward for me. It is a sad statement for America, that hard working midde class men can not even retire in their own country, they can't afford it. That is just awful!
2 or 3 years from now, I can be retired already. I hope to receive my social security too and will go back Philippines to relax and enjoy my senior life. Maybe in my hometown in Ilocos.
Some foreigners were pedophiles and sex maniacs. You are doing sex orgy, and it's wrong to bring to our land an evil person fm the west. That’s why I look male at fm west and the US and Europe were taking advantage of their govt enjoying their pension in Asia while abandoning their children and wife. They were an ungrateful citizens of their govt and people.
Stay away from the Sexpat Mafia in Dumaguete, they are going down real soon. Also many men come here to impregnate as many women as they can and disappear when the girl gets pregnant. Sunshine Shoulders has fathered at least three children to this point in the Philippines after fathering over a dozen children back in the United States.
Interesting. But it’s definitely cheaper here in Thailand.
