does roth tsp mess with our own personal roth contributions? can i have bath and still max out my personal roth every year?
Found this video a few days ago and I had no idea the army contributed 1% even if I didn’t. I love your dankest trade series but this video is my favorite and actually really useful for me. Thanks
I still don't know my log in. But i do put 17% ( 12% plus matched 5%) into my tsp. For a long while i was putting in 25% as a pv2-SPC not really caring about the pay deduction living in the barracks ( all in the roth of course) so i have 30% (25 plus 5 matched) going in while deployed already tax free so i can't complain, really looking to maximize the my money and thanks for the informative video.
I was in the army for 10 years and a federal employee for 5. Got a nice nest egg in there
Just blasted this to my company, literally learned more about TSP watching this than than in the last 15 years combined. Thanks for the video! Check on learning's inbound
The jokes are hilarious and spot on
Mikey's cash stack is looking fatter than his ribbon stack
Love your content brother, thanks for making this for us.
Would have been very y
Useful when I was enlisted. Questhough though what did you do with your TSP after you finished your term?
Mike I thought u was degenerate u should have put dat money in options
Damn this was completely random. Thanks Mikey, this video means a lot. Being in the military is one of the money cheat codes that is even more powerful than the ability to make money: being able to SAVE money. Sure you're only making 25k a year or whatever as an E4, but once I learned about personal finance I realized I could put over 1k in the bank every month and still have money to eat out and pay phone/internet/car stuff. Living in the barracks and eating at the dfac has some real advantages. I fucked up a little and forgot about the TSP, which I was only putting 3% in for 3.5 years.
Video just for me!
man your channel so addictingly informative, its like wsb on cocaine
You should make a follow up video on how to do rollovers between IRA’s and TSP’s and how to contribute money to your TSP manually.
I do
25% C
50% S
25% I
Works good for me.
This is 0% relevant for me but I’m happy someone is making a video on this. Memers can teach financial literacy too!
Will you do another video about what you can do with your TSP once your out? I've got a little over a year left in the Guard and don't really know what to do once I'm out.
I didn't contribute anything to my TSP for the 4 years I was in. I obviously regret that now, and have maxed my roth IRA every year that I've been out.
Didn't know they automatically invested for you, I'll try to see if I can acess it now lol. Thanks Mikey.
Does the match automatically happen whether you put the 5% into Traditional or Roth? If so, where does it go?
Thanks for the vid! Just got in so this is really useful info.
2/3 S Fund, 1/3 I Fund, ride or die baby. (=
Bro.. extremely helpful, thanks! Keep doing great things..
I’ve been putting anywhere from 35%-60% since 2015 currently sitting at around ~130k. It’s definitely a well worth it investment.
