Golgari Enchantments! The Aftermath Standard! MTG Arena

The Standard meta in Magic: The Gathering is constantly evolving, and new decks and strategies are always emerging. One deck that has been gaining popularity recently is Golgari Enchantments. This archetype combines the power of enchantments with the resilience of the Golgari color combination, providing a formidable and unique playstyle.

Golgari Enchantments focuses on using enchantments to control the battlefield and overwhelm opponents with a steady buildup of advantages. This strategy utilizes enchantments that not only benefit your own board state, but also hinder your opponent’s plans.

The backbone of the deck lies in cards like Enchanting Melody, which not only allows you to steal your opponent’s creatures but also strengthens your own position. This card can be devastating when combined with other enchantments that bolster your creature base, such as Season of Growth or Setessan Training. Enchanting Melody becomes a double-edged sword, taking away your opponent’s threats while empowering your own army.

Another key card in the Golgari Enchantments deck is The Binding of the Titans. This enchantment not only fills your graveyard with useful cards, but also punishes your opponent by exiling their best creature. The versatility of The Binding of the Titans is remarkable, as it can be used both offensively and defensively, depending on the situation.

Golgari Enchantments also takes advantage of Underworld Dreams, an enchantment that deals damage to your opponent whenever they draw a card. This card forces opponents to be cautious with their card draw, as it can quickly deplete their life total. Combining Underworld Dreams with cards like Tymaret Calls the Dead or Foreboding Fruit creates a steady stream of damage that can quickly whittle down an opponent’s life total.

To protect your enchantments and ensure their longevity, cards such as Ranger’s Guile or Alseid of Life’s Bounty are used. These enchantments provide both protection and flexibility, allowing you to safeguard your key pieces or disrupt your opponent’s plans at crucial moments.

In terms of removal, the Golgari Enchantments deck has access to cards like Demon’s Disciple and Bloodchief’s Thirst. These cards efficiently deal with threats on the battlefield, ensuring that your enchantments have room to breathe and thrive.

To finish off opponents, a combination of powerful enchantments such as The Akroan War or Nightmare Shepherd can give you the extra push needed. These powerful enchantments can swing the game heavily in your favor, turning your opponent’s creatures against them or providing you with an army of resilient tokens.

I've loved golgari enchants as a deck theme but it's never quite popped off, this looks like it has a lot of potential, thanks Reddcat!

If you change the style of the card back to original, you can see the backside during your deck build.

  5. The Lord Sephiroth

Youcant see the backside cuz of the alt art

Hutchina620 is exactly right, changing to the original art style seems to do the trick.

  7. Shmorrior

I ran a similar idea awhile back and I liked having Gloomshrieker since it’s an enchantment creature to either trigger Tatsunari or fetch a dead one.

  8. Mr Sy Guy

The backside bug has something to do with the card style being applied

That's a solid deck. Chicanery afoot!

  11. Anthony Hutchinson

It's a card style bug. If you switch to the default art, it shows the backside again.
