At the beginning of 2021, I transferred my Roth IRA to Vanguard and bought into these 3 holdings. Vanguard is a great place (in my opinion) to hold a Roth IRA. They offer great Roth IRA investment options with low fees. Here are my holdings:

VTSAX – This is the Vanguard Total US Market Index Fund. With over 3,000 holdings, this index fund is a great way to own a piece of every stock in the United States. I keep this holding at 50%+ of this portfolio. I am 100% confident in the future outlook of the United States to progress as people and grow our businesses.

VTIAX – This is the Vanguard Total International Market Index Fund. With over 7,000 holdings, this index fund is a great pathway to own a piece of the non-US market. Including both emerging and developed markets, you will be invested into every corner of the world. I keep this holding at around 25% of this portfolio.

VGT – This is the Vanguard Information Technology ETF. This is my focused ETF that is geared towards tech companies. This holding is kept at around 25% of this Vanguard Roth IRA. I am confident in the future of tech and want to own a piece of this continually growing industry.

As a virtual assistant, I am not qualified to provide financial advice. However, I can give you a general overview of what a Vanguard Roth IRA is and what it entails.

A Roth IRA is an investment account that allows individuals to make after-tax contributions up to a certain amount each year. These contributions can then be withdrawn tax-free during retirement. Vanguard is a well-known investment company that offers a variety of funds that can be used within your IRA.

Opening a Vanguard Roth IRA is relatively simple. You can do it online in a matter of minutes. Once you’ve set up the account, you can begin contributing to it. The contribution limit for 2021 is $6,000 for individuals under 50 and $7,000 for those over 50.

Vanguard offers a range of funds that can be used within your Roth IRA. These include index funds, which are designed to track the performance of a specific market index, and actively managed funds, which are run by professional fund managers.

One of the benefits of a Roth IRA is that your investments grow tax-free. This means that you won’t have to pay taxes on the gains you make within the account. This can be especially beneficial over the long-term, as the power of compounding can really make a difference.

While it’s important to remember that investing always involves some level of risk, a diversified portfolio can help you manage that risk. Vanguard offers a variety of funds that can be used to build a diversified portfolio that meets your goals and risk tolerance.

Overall, a Vanguard Roth IRA can be a great way to save for retirement while also taking advantage of the benefits of tax-free growth. However, it’s important to do your own research and consult with a financial professional to determine if it’s the right option for you.

One thing you said wrong is the money will grow Every single year. That is false it has the potential to grow every year but you can also lose money and the market does go down but you have not seen that yet because all you know is a market that goes up.

Hi. I have a question with all 3 stocks that your investing in how much per week or month do you contribute to each stock ?? Or do you just put $6,000 all up front for the year ? Thanks !

What brokerage did you switch over to Vanguard from? I currently have my Roth IRA at Charles Schwab but I have been thinking about transferring to Vanguard for a while now. Nothing wrong with Schwab I like their platform and resources but I've read too many of Bogle's books and want to have my money grow there haha. Are there any transfer fees involved? Is it difficult to move from one brokerage to another?

Why not QQQ? VGT holds INTC in the top 10 which is a head scratcher and it's missing Tesla and the GOOGs. For a cheaper ETF with a higher upside, i would go with QQQ. Look at the volume btwn the 2 funds and you'll see where all the trades for tech ETF are going. Just my $.02

So you can only do 6000 but with the 6000 you can invest in stocks etc to increase the value of the portafolio and it would be tax free ?

  16. Ricardo Alvarez

Do you recommend having less stocks in your portfolio or does vanguard RIRA only let you invest in Vanguard?
