Feds can seize bank deposit boxes and they are not FDIC secured. Guess Feds can do the same to these metals.

Thank you sir you saved me from making a bad decision of taking my Roth and putting it up not a gold and silver Roth

  3. WBIG.Tv

I think a precious metals IRA is attractive to a person who already has investments trapped in an IRA and is seeking a compliant way to transfer savings from existing stocks into metals before reaching the age of 59-1/2.

Great video! Helped out a lot! Thanks for your content!

  5. New Way

Thanks for another great vid Sal. I am researching the PM IRA before my next gold purchase. I think I'll leave the feds out of my stack. Untaxed, untraceable, cash purchase at an LCS sounds pretty good.

My wife told me I invested enough already in coins. She says I need to branch off into gold rings, necklaces and other rare gems.

Theirs always pros and cons to everything.

Precious metals have proved themselves over a good amount of time.

    Good video and point, Sal.

Just another way of someone getting a % of OUR $

  9. Metal Bum

Thanks man. I hold mainly stocks bonds and ETFs in my Iras. The tax savings are huge. But to each their own! I like to hold most of my own precious metals. Thanks sal!

My Prob is my 401k is tied to Stock Market and not available. If I changed jobs i can get at it. If that were to occur, My thought is Get it into a physical silver bullion ira and convert it to gold once the ratio goes down below 20.00 . #PITS Pie in the sky LOL

Holding a precious metal IRA is another sucker game the government can do a grab and go. The gold and silver pumpers/if you don’t hold it crowd can talk out of the other side of their mouths and push these IRA’s make me want to vomit. Great advice! Stay away.

  12. Peter O

I view this idea the same way I view cryptos..don't understand it, don't want to and ultimately the age old rule will always apply: if you don't hold it you don't own it!

You can't hold the Mexican gold 50 Pesos? That's me out then!!

  14. MétéoMan

    Good advice Sal.

I just rolled my 401k over to one of these. The first negative so far is the initial cost in premiums and other fees chops off more than 10% of what I started with. But, I'd still rather not be in the stock market any longer.

It seems if there is a tax advantage with an IRA, it would be better to use for mining equities, that way, you could include any exotic mined elements, for example uranium, boron, lithium and switch in or out at will.

  17. West Coast Stacker

    Thanks Again
Currently we can sell substantial (to me) quantities without dealer reporting. If laws change than I guess it will be all private/black market sales to fund retirement.

  18. lentzquest

If you want an IRA just open one, Roth or regular. PMs are off the grid. That's the whole point.

  19. OVER HERE!

Wow precious metal IRAs first time I’ve heard any buddy addressing the subject except for the folks that pump gold and silver IRAs you know the big company‘s such as Goldline.
For me one of salivate metals best videos yet informative on the subject I’m interested in and gave me enough information to agree I would not purchase precious metal IRAs

  20. TIOMKIN1

Sal, No Gold IRA'S for me. I just love the feel of Gold coins and Bars in my hand. Remember if you don't hold it you don't own it. Excellent report. Thanks. Out.

  21. Double Stack

Hi Sal. What do you think of one gold.com and Apmex working together. The concept is interesting. A little crypto ,a little bit like an I R A and it going to be like a bank account and you can hold the gold our silver if you want . I , m curious what people think about the concept.

    Commenting before watching…
The biggest problem with meatal IRAs is you don't own em, cuz ya don't hold em.

  23. Maple Hedgehog

I never looked into how taxes would be paid when i cash in my PMs. I really don't know how that works. I've never sold a substantial amount where i had to fill out any paperwork to where The Man was notified as to my Cash Out.

Man, i'd really love to see you do a video on ETFs. Like, wouldn't it be a great idea to drop 20K into Platinum ETF's, cash out profits and turn them into real GOLD until it starts to dip. Free Gold!! Uh……would you happen to give out 0% interest loans. Only 20K. Don't sweat it, i need Canadian funds…….it's nothing really EH

I have a Roth IRA. It’s my outlet for gambling. Retirement is important to me.

  25. Coins A-Z

Like you Sal, I see no good reason for me to invest into paper precious metals via funds allocation in an IRA……at least not at this time. I have a mixed asset portfolio IRA with Fidelity in which I actively manage my own assets (called a "self directed" account) and though I have considered putting some portion of the funds I have at my disposal into paper precious metals, I have not found a good enough reason to do so…..at this time. There may come a time where I move some funds in my IRA to a paper PM product but there is always opportunity costs to take into consideration.

I'm still stacking physical silver (I'm addicted to the stuff)…..I probably will be doing that till the day I can no longer physically press the buy button…..stack 'em high!

  26. Empire Precious Metals

I still don’t understand why ANYONE doesn’t prefer to have their precious metals in their possession. I guess they think it’s too much of a security risk.

Sal- do you purchase the majority of your metals from online dealers or LCSs? I know ST from Silver Stacking 101 talks about negatives for online purchases since there is a history of the transactions. Paying cash at an LCS is a LOT more confidential than online purchases….but man, the online dealers make it so easy.

  28. Louie's Silver

It would truly be scary to hand a giant sum of money to these guys. Plus when you liquidate I seriously doubt you would get over spot for premium silver. Then you get taxed! Not for me

  29. E R I K

I have a work associated 401(k) and I work for an ESOP employee owned company with profit sharing. I'm all set on the formal end, so my silver and gold is as "off the books" as can be.

  30. Silver Bean Counter

I thoroughly enjoyed this one Sal. Ya know, on the surface it sounds like a great idea but when you break it down, too many reasons to stay away from it.

  32. P WHALES

Precious Metals IRAs are a NO NO for me, I already have an IRA and can't touch the money because of the Taxes. I would rather purchase and store my own PMs. I just purchased a Gold Maple Leaf last night and will have it in my safe in a couple of weeks.
