I played football for East Intermediate High school back in 65'
I was the official Bench warmer, but for the last play, the coach sent the 4 string in, but they were one short, so they pulled in the 5th string and I secured the Safety position.
Tony was in the 6th grade, but they suited him on that chilly evening at Frost Jr High for the final play of the game.
The ball was snapped and handed to Dungy as he sped down the field past all the other players.
"I got this" I said as Tony ran closed, Hearts pounding, sweat dripping. I ran and dove into the muddy field face first reaching out to hit Dungy Heel as he sped past.
Touchdown!!!! the refs yelled!
The score board flipped to 87 to 0.
