Pallet prices as inflation indicator, THE WORST IS OVER!

My family and I run a small business in the Midwest. Every few weeks we have pallets to get rid of so we regularly head over to the scrap yard with a truck full. Before the Covid pandemic we would receive 1.75-2.25 per pallet. This price has steadily marched up to a high of 7.00 as of 2 months ago. This morning the price was 6.50, the first drop in 2 years.

Clearly this is a signal to buy tech calls since Jerome has defeated inflation.

Something you do really think about I guess. Like where do the pallets come from? They’re just there. Who the fuck out here making pallets?

Seriously I want to know what stock to buy.

We sell them for $2 when previously we gave them away for free… That’s an infinite inflation increase, as you can’t multiply by 0 and get a real number

Lumber futures have fallen significantly, take a look at core CPI YoY though, still at all time highs we have not seen anything yet LOL

Pallets are actually some of the best building materials you can get to build your dream shanty town if/when you become homeless.

I buy a couple thousand a month. My price is still 3.5 from a lot of places. Only those businesses that solely sell pallets charge 7$ -nyc

Dude u can’t be serious I hope why are u still looking at inflation. The question now isn’t inflation. It’s how many people lose their job due to the inflation fight? Yes we’re at the peak not how deep does the recession need to be in order to get to 2% lmao thinking it’s puts for the rest of the year. Unless your just talking short term bounce play.

  17. 2AcesandanaEagle

Repost when pallet prices reach .50/ea and are used mainly as burn fuel to keep warm in winter…then we can talk about real change in the air

  21. technojoe99

Is the price coming down because inflation is over, or because the global recession is reducing demand?

  22. realjimcramer
