Napoleon Bonaparte is one of the most iconic figures in history, and his rise to power and eventual downfall has fascinated scholars and historians for centuries. Recently, a documentary titled “Napoleon Part One – From Corsica to Toulon” has shed new light on the early years of Napoleon’s life and military career.
The documentary begins in Napoleon’s birthplace, the island of Corsica, where he was born in 1769. The film explores how Napoleon’s upbringing in Corsica influenced his later ambitions and decisions. This small island was a hotbed of political unrest and conflict, and it is clear that these early experiences shaped Napoleon’s approach to leadership and his desire for power.
One of the key moments in the documentary is the Siege of Toulon in 1793. At this time, Napoleon was a relatively unknown young artillery officer in the French army, but the events of Toulon would prove to be a turning point in his career. The film delves into the details of the siege, showcasing Napoleon’s tactical genius and his ability to seize control of an almost impossible situation.
The documentary also investigates Napoleon’s rise to prominence within the French military and political leadership. Viewers are given an insight into the political machinations and power struggles that Napoleon had to navigate in order to advance his career. It becomes clear that Napoleon was not just a brilliant military strategist, but also a master manipulator and skilled politician.
The documentary is rich in historical detail and uses a combination of expert analysis, reenactments, and archival footage to bring the story to life. Viewers are transported back to 18th-century Corsica and France, experiencing the chaos and upheaval of the time.
Overall, “Napoleon Part One – From Corsica to Toulon” offers a compelling and in-depth look at the early years of Napoleon’s life and career. By exploring his formative experiences in Corsica and his meteoric rise to prominence during the Siege of Toulon, the documentary provides a fresh perspective on one of history’s most enigmatic and influential figures. It is a must-watch for anyone interested in Napoleon’s legacy and the complex political and military landscape of late 18th-century Europe.
Thank you for watching everyone. If you enjoyed this video, please watch episode two of our series on Napoleon. https://youtu.be/9AP-hi7I0cg
This is what the Napoleon movie should have covered.
Is that Grand Admiral Thrawn narrating? If so, appropriate.
Fascinating and rich video which is a very good primer for the complex events of the French revolution as well as a comprehensive history of Napoleon's early life.
Just discovered this channel. My life is complete.
Caution here
Does someone have the link for part 2?
Napoleone Buonaparte is the real name from Corsica. His family originally from Tuscany fought with Pasquale Paoli against France.
Nepolean wasnt french, he was italian.
Hittler wasnt german, he was austrian.

You american don't know nothing about the Latin american, look at your selves, robbing the indigenous people of north america and killing them, also giving them religion
Woohoo! I've watched a ton of biography videos on Napoleon and yet I'm learning so much from this one already! Thank you!
you people have not changed at all , all you know how to do is to kill steal and destroy, just like your father the Devil.
Sometimes when I’m feeling extra saucy I put a little French army hat on my wiener during sexy time with my girlfriend and I call him Napoleon Boner-parte. My girlfriend doesn’t think its funny at all.

Napoleon begins as does many a young man with ambitions as well as with liabilities
ينفع حد يعمل صفحة زي دي بس تبقى بالعربى !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing!! Thank you for a superb well narrated, coherent, and detailed narrative of Napoleon's early years.
His father was Greek from the imperial family of komninon that became stefanopoli that became kalomeriti witch translate to Bonaparte.after his father death his uncle stefanopoulos took him under his protection and not his mother's brother who was a catholic priest.his uncle is the one who put him in the military academy those years if you weren't aristocrat you could not be accepted in the academy
No more Napoleon, please! Everyone and his grandmother is doing Napoleon, Josephine or Ridley Scott, and his movie only has 67% at Rotten Tomatoes. I mean, even a cooking channel I follow had to do a show on Napoleon's table manners, ffs! I fully expect Temu to offer cheap Napoleon action figures (99% off! Shop Temu now!!!).
This shameless push to get you to feature Napoleon at this point in time makes you look bad. I wish YouTube put a little thought into not making their content creators look like foolish puppets. You guys deserve better.
When is Episode 2 being released?
As an amateur historian, a huge fan of all history, and who watches nearly every big historian Youtuber, I must say, this is my favorite channel. The work and detail that goes into these, makes it look like a big budget documentary series. I can sit here for an hour and a half and I can barely tell so much time has gone by, just soaking in everything presented here.
I will continue to watch every single video you post, and I almost never do patreon, I will be joining yours to further support the hard work you do. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I listen to wonderful documentaries like these, with headphones, while doing "My Job" and feel like I'm getting a "Free Education" while getting paid to "worK"…!! Such a relaxing & calm voice-over is nice background to cover the loud & obnoxious co-workers I have to tolerate in the Office. Thanks People Profiles..!!
