Quick question, I requested the recharacterization of the whole amount given I was above salary limits to make a direct IRA contribution for 2020. The custodian move my money to a traditional IRA from the roth IRA. Then I request a rollover for tax year 2020 but my custodian says that the request has to be done before end of year and no before tax filling day to be counted as 2020. that is true???. What are my options?

If I have an IRA with a bank do I have to let it crash with the market or can I put in a stopping point? It lost 5k in one month and I’m worried that a big drop in the market is coming again.
