Would I be able to convert just the agency contributions to Roth? I max out the Roth side every year but would like to pay taxes on the governments contributions and switch it over to Roth if possible

Thanks a lot for your informative videos! I have a few questions that I hope you will address in a future video. I and my wife both work for the VA. I am 64.5 years old and my wife is 10 years younger than me. I’m planning to retire in 2 years at my full social security retirement age of 66.5. My wife will continue to work for at least 6 years after. When I retire, how do I handle my social security benefits, Medicare benefits, FERS benefits? How will they affect my wife’s? We’re working in a California VA right now. If she moves to a Texas VA when I retire and she gets a pay cut, what are the implications? She has been carrying the maximum carryover amount of annual leave from year to year. When she retires, is her unused annual leave going to be paid at the Texas rate instead of the California rate? Thanks in advance to your reply.

Wait, so if I am contributing to roth tsp, and they are matching 4% traditional, the traditional also counts in the total max cap of $19,500?

Someone please fill me in as I must be missing something. Why is everyone in such a rush to pull their $$$ out of the TSP and put it into a different IRA?
