We are now a selfish country…..what's wrong with transferring pension payments to migrants. They have to put up living in hotels at no cost….have to eat 3 meals a day and get next to nothing to spend. Just how selfish are you….let the poor dears have it. On the plus side you can get to work that bit longer ….even if you are unable to…but keep smiling ….it could be worse and it probably will be. Support your government….they need it

  5. rigamortice

The government can't afford your pension and pay for all the illegal invaders, its one or the other

  6. david bolton

the french had riots because Macron wants to raise the pension age to 64 why are we not doing the same time to put an end to these fannys running OUR country.

I can't imagine working until 68. I am 41 and already get some pains here and there although I consider myself very healthy person. I am still very young.
Looking at my parents, who are now 68 and 69. I can't see them working till this age. Althought in good helth compared to others this age, they get tirrd very easily, they can't stand for too long, their eyesight is weak, their hearing is very weak and many more things. Fortunately they retired at their early sixties.

Did he really say 86? Did I mis-hear that????

I think the most unfair part of the State Pension Scheme is lack of portability. Let's say you retire at 68, and like many retirees – you suffer from arthritis, asthma and other medical issues. The cold, dank climate of England only exacerbates many of these problems – so you decide to retire to a warm climate overseas. Immediately you do so your state pension is frozen at the level you were paid at on the day you left. After 15 years abroad you decide to complain to your MP, telling him you've paid into the State Pension Scheme at the same level as everyone else – yet your pension is worthless because of inflation – whereas retirees in the UK receive annual increases. Your MP probably won't respond – you are no longer enrolled as a voter (after 15 years you are deleted from the electoral rolls – so you are not going to influence his political career through the ballot box), and there is no way you can become a voter again! Around 500,000 British retirees living abroad face these issues.

I gave up the state health system in Austria last year – why? I also have private and listening to folk in my village who have retired they say they are now paying for state health care. It was always a juggling game on whether I would stay with the private or with the state when I retired for health and move my pension into the Austrian fund when I retired. I have on research noted it will be better to stay withing the pension fund I am in and even though I will pay for the private health it will be fore less and only 25% of the cost of the full private as a pensioner. I will get to choose my doctors. I have always supported government health coverages up unitl recently. Now on research and my use of the public health here has always costed my heaps, I am glad I stepped out of the scheme – I will be saving circa. 480 euro a month for 24 months until I retire. If I had stepped out years before I would have saved over 10 years plus on the monthly payments which have been rising yearly. Bonus by stepping out is that I can n o longer have my records is the suspect statistics of the the government nor can they poke their nose, at least for now, into my private business. And no way am I going to work past my 65th birthday month. 43 years of working is enough.

There is talk of raising the age in Austria. Currently where I work 65 years in the use by date, but I could have left at 62. 1 year, 10 mths and 2 years and I am out.

EL JAY look up gordon browns statement on the old age pension
see what maggie thatcher said about future pension reductions
these people were prime ministers and you claim to know more than them, get a life you idiot

  13. Macca11

The jab will cut the amount of pensioners down so they don't need to raise it.

  14. BarryW#6743

No fkn way they can raise it to 86!! There'd be a revolution!!

  15. Frances Brown

The French have just been demonstrating against their rise in pension age .

  16. fern bracken

EL JAY let me explain to you. In Hitlers Germany everyone got real sick pay and a pension, there was unrest in the UK people said ( leters to the times ) why cant we have what Hitler has given to his people ?
so under pressure in 1948 The UK did the same but in a diluted way. People paid a percentage of their weekly wage into what Clement Attlee said was their future
NOT the future of toerag migrants spongers

  17. Richard Harkness

The French have the right, protest, protest, protest. We are now reaping the benefits of giving 5.5 million settled status. NHS, Education, Housing, and now our pensioners paying the price for uncontrolled immigration.

  18. Robert Pewsey

Keep working, someone's got to pay to keep the immigrants happy.

  19. Jon Ross

Does anyone here think that because of Brexit that ruin a lot of lives, that's why pension age rise.

  20. George Swampy

Where has the rest of my comments disappeared to YouTube, your getting a bad reputation, one like the totally corrupt express.

  21. George Swampy

The Tories keep moving the pension goal posts, these crooks use the pension age like a football game where one side can use their hands as well, in order to get a satisfactory result. That’s the lying, deceiving and now you can add criminal Tories. Time to elect a decent, honest political party, and you will ONLY get that by voting for the REFORM PARTY come the next general election.

  22. Elgun

Why don’t they tell the truth. People aren’t living longer according to a survey. They’re giving our pension money to illegals. They are wanting you to die before you claim your pension.

  23. fisherman55

im old retired disabled and reciveing my pension and still working part time but im still bloody poor now the cost of liveing has exploded and gas and electricity prices have gone through the roof.

  24. Samantha Hardy

I don't think the government seems to understand that not everyone will be able to work until they are 86 due to age affecting them physically. They keep raising the age because they are hoping that the working class will pop their clogs before they even get a chance to claim their pensions. Thus saving the amount they would have paid out. Basically taking the pension contributions from people who have worked themselves to death to fund the public purse. Currently I'm due to retire when I'm 67 but the way things are going I will not be able to retire until I'm 70, if I live long enough to claim it!

  25. Ronnie Keight

The best thing to do at retirement age and you cannot afford to live is to carry out a serious crime and get sent to prison free board free access to Doctors and Dentist Zero Bill pure Luxury.

  26. Everything Tech & New

People voted this lot and it’s no secret they were stealing our state pensions.

  27. 1697djh

I have heard that anyone born after 1977 will be retired off at 68. My mother carried on working till 73, she couldn’t stand spending all day at home with my dad!

  28. Dean John

I’m all for if people want to work in their 60s let them but I look at it logically what employers want an over 60s on the books that is potentially a health and safety risk and also won’t be as productive as a younger person that’s what get me angry because the government is basically saying work til you die not many people make it to 80. I’ve known a guy who retired at 65 collected his pension and died 6 months later and to me that’s heart breaking work all them years to retire to die 6 months later

  29. john's shed

when I started full time work at the age of 15. I had a contract with the goverment that they would return a small portion of the money i paid in ,in weekley installments when I reached the age of 65. They lied and cheated me and more so my wife who they cheated out of 5 years more than myself . But they still want my vote . bastards.

  30. the world will ztop

The disrespect an elderly lady or man shrinks as they get old and muscles weaken and hello they want to be at coast with pets or grandkids or in garden or chilling in garden with hobbies

  31. the world will ztop

Seriously as we get older our body changes especially if done building work, welding, mining or been on feet a lot arthritis, body changes
They don't want some to get it
Some jobs have to retire at a certain age

  32. Chris Abraham

When they talk not of millions or billions in parliament but trillions there's enough money in the coffers for everyone to have a decent pension. All this government want is to rob you and give it away like confetti. Stop voting for Lab Lib Con, I bet these criminals have not only got a golden handshake but a pension that most could wish for plus they can retire at 50 or 55.

  33. roger joesbury

People cannot work as fast or as hard when they are older but the employer will still have the same productivity rate for.. all ages

  34. Dotty G

Gimme my taxes back then and I willlook after myself, all the corruption and illegal taxing they do is where our pension pot is…they are nowt but greedy global criminals ,,I’m looking forward to when the tide changes and these crooks are locked up ..

  35. Shamblesguru Smith

I'm retired in Thailand …. And if you do retire to Thailand then Brit State Pensions are FROZEN … they will never rise …. how unfare …. some countries are frozen and some are NOT ….

  36. william f

No offence intended but did i hear that right you will be retirement age in 25 years time – im sorry but i had you down for being around about the 55 mark right now – maybe i misunderstood what you were saying

  37. Roger Marsh

I had such a wonderful boss I did not retire till I was 85 but then I was self employed.

  38. Jon Welderbeast.

Our politicians know, we can't do a dam thing about!! Even if we all voted for Reform, the Civil Service will continue the directives, because their pensions are huge!!

  39. Andy Toms

We don't need a government like this their thieving con artists . Pension age should be 55 with a private pension and state . These spongers let more spongers into our country and use our money to pay for it . Let's get rid of this vermin !

  40. Chris Davies

most will die before they get it.

  41. Alan Marr

The state pension started in 1912 when not many people got it because people died earlier. So it should be at least 70 !

  42. David Robert Gibson

Well said. I am fortunate that I was in the last year of men who got State Retirement Pension on time at 65 (although having to wait 5 years longer than women who generally live longer!). I feel sorry for folk whose retirement age is delayed by the State. When people start paying National Insurance the State should keep its side of the bargain and pay them State Pension on time. The State is *defrauding* them and getting away with it because the State makes the law. If the State want to increase retirement age, they should so it only for folk who start paying NI after the change.

  43. Steve Taylor

Combined life expectancy in the UK is 81 and they want to make the pension age 86 in a society where life expectancy is starting to deteriorate.

  44. Stephen

Work to you drop basically but it's ok for the MPs and the elite because they retire really early as planned but us plans have to work until we die. if we do survive that, we get ripped off by taxes on our pensions which we worked for many years

  45. Barry Brindle

86! In other words contributing for nothing! And we know the guy you were referring to, his name starts with a very big 'C'
