I had a chance to sit down with David Stig Hansen after his second time exploring around the Richat Structure in Mauritania where he showed how to get there and new discoveries from water canals of Plato legend to ancient quarries. This imagery and geography gets better the deeper he headed into the desert.

Abandoned Cities Discovered in the Sahara: A Glimpse into the Past

The Sahara Desert, known for its vast expanse of sand dunes and harsh living conditions, has always been perceived as a desolate and uninhabited place. However, recent archaeological discoveries have unearthed a forgotten chapter in the history of this arid region, revealing the existence of abandoned cities that were once bustling with life.

1. Timgad:
One of the most striking finds is Timgad, located in modern-day Algeria. Founded in 100 AD during the reign of Emperor Trajan, this Roman city once thrived as a trading center and an essential link between Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Timgad boasted well-planned streets, a network of sewage systems, and grand structures such as a theater that could seat up to 3,500 people.

Over time, however, Timgad fell into decline due to a combination of natural disasters and political instability. Devastating earthquakes in the 5th and 8th centuries, along with the fall of the Roman Empire and subsequent invasions, eventually led to the city’s abandonment. Today, visitors can stand in awe of the remarkably well-preserved ruins, providing a snapshot of life in ancient times.

2. Ksar Ghilane:
Deep within the Tunisian Sahara lies Ksar Ghilane, an abandoned fortified oasis. Originally built by the Romans, it served as a military outpost and a vital stop along the trans-Saharan trade route. The oasis provided shelter, water, and rest for travelers crossing the harsh desert, making it a strategic location for several empires throughout history.

With the decline of trans-Saharan trade and advancements in transportation, Ksar Ghilane gradually lost its importance. Today, the remains of Roman fortifications, including a small castle, are the only remnants of this once-thriving oasis town. Despite the desolation, Ksar Ghilane continues to attract tourists and adventurers seeking the romance of the Sahara’s past.

3. Koumbi Saleh:
Situated in present-day Mauritania, Koumbi Saleh is an ancient city renowned for being the capital of the Ghana Empire from the 9th to 11th centuries. The empire, known for its wealth and control over gold trade routes, made Koumbi Saleh a flourishing center of commerce and a hub for Islamic culture.

While the exact reasons for its abandonment remain unclear, historians and archaeologists speculate that the decline of the gold trade and internal conflicts led to the city’s downfall. Today, Koumbi Saleh is a UNESCO World Heritage site where visitors can marvel at its ruins, including the remains of a royal palace, mosques, and countless artifacts that depict the once-thriving civilization.

These abandoned cities discovered in the Sahara Desert offer us a glimpse into the rich and diverse history of this vast and seemingly desolate region. They remind us that even in the harshest climates, civilizations have thrived, traded, and left their mark on the earth. As archaeologists continue to explore and uncover more about these forgotten cities, the Sahara’s past becomes increasingly tangible, allowing us to reflect on the rise and fall of ancient civilizations.

It take a multi discipline scientific approach to see the picture of destruction across Africa . Zoomed out you see the area's stripped of all soils down to the bedrock as the crustal dissplacement sent mile high waters across the continent . The eye of Africa will turn out to be Atlantis and the egyption enigma of the how and when they could have quarried the big perfect stones will end with a realisation they re=used the materials from Atlantis that were washes away and strewn across Egypt . Going on the 12,000 year cycle of catastrophe this will date Atlantis to before the last cycle with the Egyptian empire rising from what was left , seeking to rebuild without the technology now lost during a time of planetry cleansing .
The bible forewarns of the day that will come again and how the mountains crumbled and the waters rose up .
It's telling of the last 12,000 year event and we are nearing the next , in cosmic terms we are at 1 second before midnight .

funny facts for the people interested in this "structure" : at the bigging of the 20th century, planes could not fly over the place without having their compass going mad (I think one can even find references to that fact in early report of saint-Exupery working at that time for the aerpopostal) . At the same time the locals reported a giant mining operation taking place in the region for many many years, then the "matics" problems stopped …..other funny fact is that one can find very nice wahls squeletons 100 kms in land in the region, and clearly not 1000's of years old….. which means the ocean receded… not went up….and lastly one can also findl small crocodiles in completly isolated oasis over there….

In the province of Quebec land was divided by narrow lots that extended from rivers, lakes or creeks, thus providing water access to each peasant farmer. In the next province of Ontario (and throughout the rest of English speaking Canada), land was divided into townships that referenced the longitude and latitude coordinates of the map. Lots are more practical for subsistence farming, whereas townships are better suited to mechanized agriculture.

    Interesting show…as usual

Looks just like the angular marks on ocean floor. If your trying to remember where you saw similar lines. Some one must of drained the ocean and made those marks. Then moved onto Canadian Shield and did the same but used longer lines. Or Africa was once ocean floor just like Canadian shield.

Those arc discharges happened long ago this does not happen regular during these magnetic excursions that electric arc discharged was a one time deal and it lines up with shoals star something like 78,000 year's ago a one time event! This is not a regular event that happens people need to realize this because people are freaking out thinking this will occur now IT WONT! Unless another star comes through our solar system which is a few millions away this is something we have nothing to worry about!
The geology of these arc discharges around the earth shows you that these events happened such a very long time ago. Just look at how many structures roads Ect and how old they Are it shows this event happened so very long ago.
We will have discharge but nothing like how these guys keep saying it's coming ITS NOT! Neither is the MUD FLOOD that an event all of it's own and it has nothing to do with the planets being on one side of the solar system this happens regularly also.
Don't get caught up on some of these events they don't happen as often as some push.
A cataclysmic event does happen volcanic activity water and the sun that's it.

  22. David Stig Hansen

I think I mispoke when I said the trees were ten feet tall. Those trees were like 25 feet tall.
