Application CHECK LIST: (ALL I SUBMITTED, Every original important document was photocopied and added to my application, and I used sticky notes to indicate original and photocopy) :
• Supporting cover letter from both myself and my husband.
• Duly filled and submitted visa form for applicant.
• Duly Filled Appendix 2 VAF 4A
• My sponsorship undertaking form .
• Applicant’s international passport (Current and previous ones held). (Though previous ones were returned at TLS Contact on biometric day)
• Applicant’s birth certificate.
• Applicant’s UK academic degree as proof of english language.
• Applicant’s Tuberculosis test certificate from IOM Lagos, Nigeria.
• Printed Scanned copy of sponsor’s passport data page
• printed Scanned copy of sponsor’s British passport page/ residency permit in the United Kingdom.
• Sponsors birth certificate/Declaration of age.
• Sponsor’s 6 months bank statements.
-Applicant’s bank statement (If gainfully employed)
• sponsor’s last 6 months salary pay slips from employment.
• Letters from sponsor’s employer(s) confirming employment.
• Utility bills and Tenancy agreement for accommodation where wife and husband will be staying.
• Our Marriage certificate (Registry or Church – choose one not both)
• Sequentially Dated Photos from our courtship, wedding and post-wedding.
• Cards(Valentine, birthday, anniversary, I miss you cards and post cards) exchanged during our relationship. I added all lol.
• Flight tickets and boarding passes during the course of our relationship.
• Conversation Logs from emails, facetime and Whatsapp

Hello all,
Thank you for the awesome feedback on this video I appreciate the comments. However I’ve gotten some questions privately I’d like to address
1. Every original document you submit (you should attach a photocopy as well) not just for your own records but a copy to be submitted alongside your original, I indicated original and photocopy with sticky notes.
2. You need two letters from your sponsors/spouses employer. One that confirms his employment (showing his full name, his role, type of employment, and his salary per year) and one that confirms the pay-slips attached are genuine.
The letter can be addressed to
The entry clearance officer,
British home office
Sheffield
United Kingdom.
3. Your spouse must attach a prepaid special delivery envelope to your application when sending through Royal Mail to Sheffield. This is to ensure your document is returned once they are done with the decision process. Usually returned within a month once the visa is granted.
4. You must read the UK gov website thoroughly please to be sure what exact documents to use.
5. I advice you to take all documents to TLS on your biometric day. They will collect your form, your passport and anything else they need and give all other documents back to you.
(For you to DHL to your spouse in the UK who will then use Royal Mail To send to the Sheffield PO box address )
6. This video is only advisory I am not an immigration expert, officer or lawyer. If you’ve been denied in the past or your case is peculiar please kindly read number 4 again alongside employing expert help.
7. You can take the English language test or any other equivalent provided by the home office to prove you can speak English if you didn’t school abroad.

I am a British Citizen, currently residing in Pakistan. My spouse is a Pakistani national. Is it possible that we BOTH can go TOGETHER to UK instead of spouse going after 6 months (on spouse visa) of my arrival in UK when I get a job? Please guide.
1) Hi, did the sponsor also add a letter from their landlord with the application or just the Tenancy agreement?
2) And did the applicant add all copy of the passport pages or just the photo page and visa stamped pages?

Thank you so much. Very informative. If I heard you right you said I have to send my original documents only. In my case I am flight crew and I can’t go to work without my original passport on me (it’s a requirement). Is there a way of asking or explaining to them that I cannot be without my passport for a period that long?
