GPT-4 and the Future of Web Browsing

Madra and Lingham discussed the possibilities of GPT-4, the upcoming version of OpenAI’s language model. Madra predicted that GPT-4 will change the way we browse the internet by providing more customized and relevant content. He suggested that instead of searching for websites, GPT-4 will allow us to search for specific information and pull up the most relevant content from various sources. Lingham agreed, saying that GPT-4 will be a “game-changer” for web browsing.

Plugin Demos and the Importance of User Experience

The conversation then shifted to demoing plugins and the importance of user experience. Madra stressed that product demos need to be simple and straightforward in order to attract users. He explained that FordX’s demo of its electric vehicle charging station was intentionally designed to be user-friendly and didn’t require any tech knowledge. Lingham agreed that user experience is key and noted that Civic has focused on creating a seamless user experience for its digital wallet.

AI Layoffs and the Human Impact

Calacanis brought up the recent trend of AI layoffs, where companies are cutting jobs in order to automate tasks. Madra acknowledged that AI can be used to automate certain jobs, but emphasized that it’s important to invest in retraining workers so they can be transitioned to new roles. Madra also noted that AI is creating new jobs in industries like cybersecurity and data analysis. Lingham expressed concern over the human impact of automation and suggested that companies need to be socially responsible when implementing these technologies.

IA is not for make human go down, or destroy work job or professionals ., AI is great if can help us to still survive, any other feature that kill any opportunity of work is a stupid use for it!

I know Jason is tired of Crypto, but forget thinking about it in the financial context and think about it in terms of blockchain infra to verify the content was, in fact published by the actual person. Publish on-chain 1st (mint), then push out to your social channels. Or AI variants made by the publisher also go on-chain.

22:50 If we think broader about what LLMs and custom fine tuned models might deliver, it might be the outsourcers – the people and companies that are specialists – that have the data sets and the human teams necessary to fine tune specific models that can be hyper effective at a particular task. Companies may look to outsourcers that can execute with AI quickly to deliver ROI fast. Depending on internal resources to become AI experts in all of the tasks that will be automated, might not be effective.

Interesting AI strategy for Inside. My only feedback is if you let AI curate the topics, you may never break any stories or set the direction of news. You'll be a rehash of other's work instead of doing unique and creative stories.

LinkedIn doesn't permit scraping or crawling. To access the site you need to have a crawler that has javascript enabled (like using puppeteer) and even then LinkedIn might ban your IP if you're visiting a bunch of profiles from the same IP address. My guess is it might not be worth it worth it for the plugin devs.
