What’s the difference between a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA? It really comes down to how the contributions and distributions are treated. With a traditional IRA you get a tax deduction on the contribution BUT the distributions, usually at retirement, are 100% taxed. With a Roth there is no tax deduction on the contribution BUT distributions are tax free. There are other things to consider as well.
