The European Climate Pact: Together in Action is a new initiative launched by the European Commission to help European countries achieve the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. The Pact is a voluntary agreement between Member States to take action to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

The Pact is based on five core elements:
# A commitment to reduce emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.
# A commitment to increase the share of renewables in the energy mix to at least 32% by 2030.
# A commitment to increase energy efficiency by at least 32.5% by 2030.
# A commitment to invest in climate adaptation and resilience.
# A commitment to promote sustainable lifestyles and green jobs.

The Pact is open to all European countries, both inside and outside of the European Union. It is also open to other countries that are part of the European Economic Area, such as Norway and Iceland.

The Pact is part of a wider European Green Deal, which is the European Commission’s plan to make Europe carbon neutral by 2050. The Pact is designed to help countries to achieve their climate goals and to work together to tackle the climate crisis.

The Pact is also designed to help countries to share best practices and to learn from each other. It will provide support for countries to develop their own climate plans and to implement them. It will also provide funding for projects that help to reduce emissions and to build resilience to climate change.

The Pact is a positive step forward in the fight against climate change. It is a way for European countries to work together to reduce emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change. It is a way for countries to show their commitment to the Paris Agreement and to the fight against climate change.
