    There is actual Econ theory behind this:

    Large projects often get planned, but cannot get financed or approved until late in economic cycles. This is bc money is flowing everywhere and all the low hanging fruit has been picked.

    In an effort to make more money, executives stretch what they would normally approve, and often find some large project that was overlooked due to costs or logistics that are simply not as relevant at the height of boom times.

    Then, these larger projects take a while to complete….just in time for an economic recession.

    In the past, this mapped well with “the worlds tallest building”announcements.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future ppl don’t comment that Twitter is an example of this. If money wasn’t so cheap and plentiful in late 2021, would elon have tried to execute on this plan?

    Nah, it’s just coincidental late stage capitalism – trading in innovation for rehashes as long as the dollars roll in.

    On the Phillies front, were only allowed to be good-ish or better 10% of the time.
