For the girlfriend caller she needs to worry more about why she is not a wife after 18 months rather than worrying about her boyfriends finances. His top priority is to save for retirement….doesn't sound like a wife and marriage is in that plan. She is spinning her wheels.
Sounds like a girlfriend trying to fix her boyfriend, which is not a great way to start and isn't promising for a marriage.
She needs to worry about her own finances.

I am SO happy that you guys talked about TBM. I stop following her. I understand she wants to do things her own way. But there is no reason to trash the baby steps. This year I DO NOT NEED EXTERNAL NOISE. Baby step 2 GET ready, I am coming for you!!!!!!!

Super episode with Jade and George. Jade and George were able to uncover the root issues which is so helpful to us listeners. Very helpful. Agreed, great energy and equal contributions by Jade and George with each caller.

Does Dave Ramsey ever host this show anymore?

I remember eggs being 33 cents a dozen at Aldi three years ago. Now they’re $5 a dozen. This is my first time seeing big inflation as an adult. I’m thankful we’re in BS 6 so the inflation is just annoying!

I couldn't agree more – having goals broken down into smaller goals helps any and everyone make progress. Things can always be modified. True, they can. Problem with that mentality is, what do you modified, when do you modify it, how long do you modify it, etc. Whomever the girl/lady was who took the 7 Baby Steps and modified them, just gave horrible advice to someone who needs a structured plan with discipline. Great job Jade n George.

This is giving me @herfirst100k vibes

Why is the girlfriend more concerned with her boyfriend's finances, than he is?own business. Kelly, can't force someone to do anything.

  17. Steve Clark

    Where is Dave and Rachel?

2 thoughts – George mentioned someone saying The Baby Steps program/concept is for poor people and he dismissed that – Saying the program has created millionaires etc – I fully agree it works but I think the other person meant that if you already have a substantial amount of $ – Have no consumer debt, school loan debt etc then you don’t need these steps – Probably just meant where is the wealth building DETAILS – That part is very vague in the steps – Last step is just build wealth

Be better served to have a second program that is basically for people that don’t need the baby steps – Or just flat out say if you’re past these steps then just contact our Financial Pro’s to build wealth

Also it is suggested to pay off all consumer debt other than Mortgage BEFORE investing – I really doubt you mean do not take an employer match TSP/401 K because you still have debt – For some it may take years to pay off debt – I’m guessing it’s not a good idea to pass up years of free $ in the match while you are paying off debt – No way I would give up a 5% match for years while doing the pay off all debt step

    Am I wrong?
