The Retirement Crisis Balloons – Robert Kiyosaki, Ted Siedle

According to Bloomberg, “New York City’s pension costs will rise by about $6 billion over the next three fiscal years as high inflation and fears of a recession have hammered the city’s retirement plans.” Today’s guest explains how this could have been prevented with proper planning and oversight.

Ted Siedle, co-author of “Who Stole My Pension” says, “When the American or your state pension says they lost 6%, that’s not true. The number is probably double or triple that.”

CalPERS, the largest government pension in the United States, which used to be known as the best-run pension in the U.S. has been faced with scandal and controversy. It’s no longer the gold standard for anything. Siedle says, “It’s the gold standard for misbehavior.”

Host Robert Kiyosaki and guest Ted Siedle discuss the ballooning pension crisis and what that means for future generations.

I'm more interested in investments that could set me up for retirement , with markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest-rate hike, while treasury yields are rising rapidly—which means more red ink for portfolios this quarter. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $125k bond/stocck portfolio.

Your books give inspiration behind bars to those who want to turn their lives around. Not for some corny day job or to live poor as a good citizen. But to live well, on their own terms and not resort to criminal means to do so. EVERYONE has your books down state. Thank you!

Does this apply to government pensions? Like those of firefighters?

Canada, a friend of our's died at sixty two; the majority of his remaining pension has gone to buy coffee tables and couches for new Canadian immigrants and refugees and administration for such. The amounts paid out one time and monthly listed on our government websites is shameful, considering widow and widowers "sustenance" is doled out sparingly!

If somebody had screwed me that bad outta spite, I'll just say I can sure see how terrorists are born. I'd probably make sure that 'governor' didn't live much longer, even at my own life's risk, just to make the point. When someone has nothing left to live for, they can be very dangerous. I have no wife nor kids.

Zelensky says that anyone who votes to be part of Russia will face up to 10 years in prison. So much for freedom and democracy in western Ukraine. Democracy will still exist in Eastern Ukraine regardless of what Zelensky says.

This may come as a shock to some of you, but banks don't need your money. Say you want to borrow $30,000 for a Car or Camp Trailer. You go to your bank or credit union and ask for a loan. Then the bank adds money to the computer screen and then loans you the newly created money plus interest.

..guess who has been buying up all of the government issued securities? CHINA..

Also China has been stock-piling Gold for the last few years in anticipation of this. Biden and the Democrats issued a new executive order to move the U.S. to digital currency at which point the federal government will have control of all of our money and use this to pay China to fend them off from taking over our country by force!

To be successful, you need to build intelligent plans and work towards them. Investing is still the smartest way to prepare for the unexpected. I have been investing consistently for 6 years and I am extremely pleased with the returns. For anyone who wants to start; The good news is – it's never late to start.

Once the municipal pensions fail and the military, police and first responders realize they've been cheated and lied too, who will be around to protect 75 year old rich guys from the unwashed masses? It's one thing to be rich and anonymous It's a whole different animal to be a rich braggart on social media.

It seems to me that Kyosaki is a Trump Republican and despises Biden. So he is pro Trump, who is a known and proven traitor of our democracy and supports authoritarian fascism. So it looks like kyosaki is an authoritarian fascist and that is why he despises Joe Biden.

Making the right investment early or rather having a good retirement investment plan at an early stage plays an important role in saving you from any form of retirement crises…make more thorough researches before investing though or better still, get a fin. advisor. Made my first million earlier this year through one after losing a fortune to YouTube inspired "trial and error" investing advices. Retiring without any worries. Goodluck

Sir Robert, some intelligent retired male Americans spends their retirement in Asia or the Philippines because their pension averaged $1,500-2,000, and that is big money when converted to local currency. Some were maybe your companions in the Vietnam war too. What looked amusing to me was that they abandoned their wife and children on the pretext that the US government favored female Americans, you know they were old and not ideal ladies and did not look for their needs, that’s why he divorced his wife, That’s why in the Philippines, they find here a young lady as young as in 20-30 yrs old but their age was above 50 YO. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I find them ungrateful citizens of America. They were leaving their own country and settling in Asia. Sir Robert, what also amused me, they’ve got two girlfriends here in the Philippines, and then boom, got trouble here in the Philippines. They know nothing about your advice and don't know anything about being an investor. It's time for them to shine here, but what the heck? They got broke and blamed the others wife’s family. I pity them because they live like teenagers instead of retiring but attending parties.

You Really need better sound ppl. it would really be nice if the sound volume of your show was the same as your commercials. Every commercial is SO much louder than your show you really need to properly balance the sound of both.

Robert, I have been following your teachings for over 10 years, – I push your books and games on my children and friends, but I need to say, your cruel and condescending way of speaking towards those who have not been fortunate enough to have someone help to open their eyes to financial intelligence, is embarrassing to watch.

I heard that stock market is one of the most resilient wealth building tools we have to use to our advantage. It bounce back stronger from every bear market it's ever experienced . Let's face it… buying more stocks & index funds during stock market corrections and bear markets is scary. Which makes it really hard to do for most people like me . I have 260k i want to transfer into an s&s isa but its hard to bite the bullet and do it.

I hate to point at the hypocrisy but maybe I’m missing something can someone put me in check. Why in one breath will he “pray for those getting into real estate” and the. On the next breath they are referring to real estate gold etc as the things to do. Comon man.

The worst thing is the constant surges. One day, you hear a trade or skill is in demand. You learn it, or are trained in it. You go for the job / work and boom…it's already flooded.

Tech is getting flooded hard now and this makes my 5th fail. It's barely worth trying anymore…just get a low level job and ride it out til bankruptcy.

  31. Goose Country

Ive been sold on Robert for years .
But seriously WTF is he talking about. This is just evolking unnecessary fear. Our pension is growing like crazy and guaranteed. We are talking pensions here not rrsp or 401 contributions . We are talking pensions.
