I'm currently watching this video now, but I have to comment on how in the dark most of us are regarding how to use and win with our contributions. There was never an official telling us step by step how to find an investment and make money monthly with it. Sure, a lot of this is considered private matters. However, if I knew 8 years ago what I know now about TSP I would have invested every dollar i possibly could into this. I found out you can take a below 2% interest loan out with your money, you can contribute what you would have spent on interest towards paying back your loan on top of your minimum payment. At that time in my life I had an 18% auto loan, and not a single person told me about this opportunity. Furthermore, I found out you could trade shares daily and make a crap load of money with what you already had in there. Now its twice monthly trades but regardless nobody bothered to educate me. To wrap this up, all I have to say for 6 years worth of contributions is $6000. The g fund protected me from 2008s crash, however I missed out on some killer buys directly afterwards because I was poorly informed about the way the game is play. Now, I hear about TSP millionaires who were well informed and in the know on when to buy with their club buddies, it makes me bitter and angry about the entire program.

I just enrolled in TSP.  I know for ROTH IRA the last contribution date for 2014 is April 15th of 2015.  What about TSP?  What is the last contribution date for 2014 TSP?  Is it my last pay check in December 2014 or my last pay check to April 15th, 2015?  Thanks.  =)
