State Of The Nation: Tinubu Presidency | Politics Today

With the 2023 Nigerian presidential elections just around the corner, the political landscape is heating up with potential candidates vying for the coveted position. One prominent figure who has emerged as a frontrunner is Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and a key player in the country’s political scene. As the nation eagerly awaits the forthcoming elections, let’s take a closer look at the “State of the Nation” under a potential Tinubu presidency.

Tinubu’s political career began in the late 1990s when he served as the Governor of Lagos State. His tenure was marked by significant advancements in infrastructural development, education, and healthcare in the state, earning him the reputation as a progressive and forward-thinking leader. His track record in Lagos has undoubtedly contributed to his popularity and positioned him as a strong potential candidate for the presidency.

One of the key areas that Tinubu promises to focus on is the economy. Nigeria, being Africa’s largest economy, faces numerous challenges such as unemployment, inflation, and a struggling manufacturing sector. Tinubu, known for his business acumen, would likely implement policies aimed at promoting investment and reviving the nation’s economic growth. His experience in the private sector and successful management of Lagos State’s resources make him a credible candidate to tackle these economic challenges.

Another issue that Tinubu would need to address is security. Nigeria has faced significant security challenges in recent years, including insurgency in the northeast, banditry in the northwest, and an upsurge in inter-communal clashes. Tinubu has outlined a comprehensive security plan that includes strengthening the country’s security apparatus, investing in intelligence gathering, and collaborating with international partners. His experience in managing security issues in Lagos State might also prove beneficial in addressing national security concerns.

Furthermore, Tinubu is known for his ability to bridge ethnic and religious divides within the country. Nigeria, being a multi-ethnic and multi-religious nation, often grapples with tribal and religious tensions. Tinubu’s leadership style and his history of inclusive governance in Lagos State may serve as a unifying force that could help reduce these divisions and foster national cohesion.

However, Tinubu’s potential presidency is not without its critics. Some point to instances where he has been accused of political maneuvering and alleged misuse of power. These allegations would undoubtedly be scrutinized during an election campaign, and Tinubu would need to address them convincingly to alleviate concerns.

In conclusion, a potential Tinubu presidency brings forth both potential opportunities and challenges for Nigeria. His track record in Lagos State, which includes notable achievements in infrastructure development and economic growth, positions him as a potential catalyst for positive change at the national level. However, his critics will highlight alleged political missteps to undermine his candidacy. As Nigerians prepare for the 2023 elections, it is imperative that they carefully consider the state of the nation and the potential implications of a Tinubu presidency.

This is been clever by half. South-South and North-Central is not represented. When did Chief of Defense Intelligence becomes service chiefs? No one have heard of CDI before now. It is a pure military position and Tinubu team making it public to make it look like SS was represented is too bad. Can anyone tell me who was CDI under Goodluck and Buhari?

In May 29 , 2023, Baba Tinubu – The President of Nigeria, has entered uncharted territory , he needs our prayers, because as a popular say to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done, but rather say to manage Nigeria well, for the good of all, is a task that must be done!

  13. Ifechi Nwadi

Nigeria needs to be re- negotiated, re- constructed and re-configured starting by ending the imposed and fraudulent constitution. We shall achieve something good in our choice by undergoing a Referendum.
Tinubu is trying to recover all the money he wasted on his APC campaign. Let people not be confused.

  14. Just in case

Bode George should shut up his mouth . He was bad governor for Ondo state , mismanage its recourses with his cronies. He also serve jail sentence for embezellement and corruption. He's a bad role model to listen to.

  18. NOKS

  19. Olabanji Ogunniyi

Seun, some scammers are using channels tv to dupe people please expose them and let the public be aware

  20. Sir Rainbow

When Chief Bode George points out what he does like about President Tinubu is the management style, this is quite obvious but not a reason to have such a long-term antagonistic relationship obvious to all Nigerians. Military trained personnel are obviously going to have management style that is different from civilian personnel. It is natural that two individuals with different background and training are likely to have two different management styles and what matters is how the managed perceive the Manager. There seems to be more to the difference in management style the guest cites as the only problem he has with the president when asked about the relation between the two. It is obvious there are personal issues that should be respected. If the guest responds this way, perhaps journalists will cease bring this issue up all the time he is invited as a guest in the Tv stations.

  21. Integrity allen

bola tinubu, is not a Nigerian. He is a Ghanaian. His first name is kofi! It is a shame that this 'CON MAN' called bola tinubu, have fooled or mu mu Nigerians, except the IGBOs. Kofi, a.k.a bola tinubu, will steal all the money in Nigeria and disappear to his homeland, Ghana. Nigeria are in for a rough ride of their lives. Look are those appointments? They are all yorubas, hausas and fulanis. They are all 'CRIMINALS' that lacks clear conscience !

  22. Uncensored

pdp was in charge from 1999 to 2015; why didn't they change the constitution?

  23. Ola Babs

Still can’t see any reason for calling Bode George for interview if not to come and attack Tinubu but all of you and the media will fail, the same Bode Goerge that was convicted and sent to prison doesn’t have any moral authority to discuss Tinubu, he is not relevant in PDP and Nigeria politics again, he should just relocate to Ghana.

  24. super new africa

You can’t make good a STOLEN “mandate”. Stealing is rife and gratified by people of privilege and power. Shame to a nation of dishonest people. Wait for a court where a senator is proud of influencing a justice. Narc0tic money everywhere
