Can't put a cage on s car lol… so most Americans just have to play Russian roulette
Total bullshit, I just cracked an egg by squeezing it and now there’s yolk fucking everywhere
Can tires and rims blow up when they are just being changed for passenger vehicle use? I am 58, I have never seen a shop use a cage when filling tires after installing them. I was just thinking about getting all new tires for my truck. Even if they do use cages to inflate they have to add some air in order to get the tire to seat on the rim, Ali realize it’s usually only about 10-15 psi.
I don't own a tire shop or work at one but I want to buy this anyways. What an innovative idea that the world needed!
Rubber??
God forbid a tire goes at least with a cage I’ll keep my life, hearing not guaranteed
Maybe leave a link you can buy these thing I am looking for one and can not find your brand just a thought
Good way to remove the tire off the rim as long as it is in the cage that why I would have 2 of them
It still has to be installed
Keeps it extremely exciting
My cage's name would be "Nicholas".
Recently saw a video of a split-rim exploding. One guy was sat on it (tire laying flat) the other was leaning over it, in India I think.
Both died. Pretty gruesome. These safety cages are a good idea.
Do you all have one for the privie, I can let out some presure. Got to strap my ass down or I could go into orbital.
Got one for bike tires? Seriously, first tire ive ever had pop on me at a gas station
You could hear it a block away.
Do you recommend that the cage be anchored to the floor or not?? Any advantages or disadvantages??
Back in my late teens, I worked in a shop. I was the tire guy. I had no training about split-rim tires and was told to fix them. I did. For months. Until someone finally told the boss about this and had a cage made for me. I wish I would have known. Now at 64, I STILL want to go kick his ass. But, he's dead from old age. I was Blessed and over-seen by God's Angels.
The bird which is the bald eagLe
Okay salesmen, you got me this time, that shit looks pretty dangerous ngl
You shouldn't offer a model that is inferior to your safest model. If the safest model you produce has sidebar reinforcements and safety mesh than every model should have sidebar reinforcements and safety mesh. In three sizes small medium and large.
Only time I've ever really seen the need for a cage is on split rims. Never seen a rim fail like that before. Usually the tire fails, generally from way over inflation.
The old split rim (rim and ring )both pickup truck and Straight Truck and tractor trailer are rare now but can be killers to person working on it and even people a short distance away
Discount and Costco doesn't use them….? Are these just for giant Vehicles traveling next to me every day? I think its 110 psi on those, so why do you have 4 air hoses hooked up? A normal compressor doesn't go past 130 psi
An excellent and VERY informative video! I’m a 40 year retired auto mechanic that has seen too many close calls over the years. When people complain about the cost of such safety equipment I just tell them that you can’t put a price on your life or a lifetime with major injuries due to a momentary lapse in safety.

Absolutely a safety device and every tire shop should have it.
Very professionally done.
Yeah you wasted a lot of money flying in the phantom camera.. Could of gotten same video with my s21 ultra …
As a tire tech yes this is dangerous as fuck
This only happens to idiots. I've done thousands of tires.
Safety first that goes for the fools riding motorcycles leaving brain matter too
Just so everyone is aware, a lot of the tires talked about here are what are considered 'rim wheels' which are used in industrial vehicles like forklifts and the like. While all tires inflated with compressed air can have effects like this, the kinds of tires are very different in construction and failure points.
After mounting and inflating the tyre with the cage protection you have to remove the cage and install the tyre onto the truck and there is no more protection after that!!!
I change tires on big rigs for a living at Loves. A lot of guys won't use cages while on roadcalls, wish they would but they'll find out one day. Always use a cage!
For
That’s what’s that’s gfor
Split rim
Don’t over inflate and you’ll be fine
Compressed air will $&#@ you up.
Well worth the money spent on this…
Happened today right in front of me
Fitting reccomendation after a video of a guy sent flying 3 meters in the air due to a truck tyre blowing up.
… yeah I’m a tire tech. Dont get me wrong, these do save lives, but they do not save time. Its not like the tire magically airs up faster because its cozy in a cage… nor will the mounting process be any faster.
It is faster to do it without the cage, but the sacrifice is safety. This is a big problem in the tire industry as a whole. Wanting fast service is great, but it shouldnt come at the expense of safety. This had been an issue in the shop i work at. We employees often skip the tire cage as we are constantly being hounded for time on roadcalls. You save time when you just ignore the cage. Easier to just take the tire u just mounted and start airing it up than to get onto the truck, undo the chains holding the cage, dragging it to the hydraulic bed, lowering it, setting it up, placing tire in, and then begin airing it up. Also before you leave u have to put it back on the truck.
Most of us in our shop take shortcuts left and right and sacrifice safety for the sake of speed. Want the roadcall done in under 30 minutes after arrival? I can do it, but I’m not using a jack stand or the cage.
I honestly believe they come up with these policies and buy the cages just so they arent liable for if we choose not to use it in order to meet their ridiculous time requirements.
I love watching videos of tire explosions on snuff and gore websites, the victims always fly into the air while flaccid, they always make this nice ragdoll action.
