I'd advise newbie traders to take this video seriously, investing in index funds can be tricky and this video did a good job of shedding some light. However, if unable to trade on your own, there's no better approach than seeking out the help of a professional.

Great content Raymond! I am very new to this and my question may sound very ignorant. I just moved about $100k to a Fidelity Rollover IRA and planning to retire in 5, 7 years. After speaking to Fidelity, they advised me to move the money to a Fidelity Asset Manager 50% fund witch has an expense ratio of 0.65% and 39% in Bonds. It sounds to me that one these index funds could be a better option. Should I leave the money in the Fidelity Asset Manager 50% or move it in an index fund? Now, here is where my ignorance comes in. How do I navigate the Fidelity website and transfer the money from the Fidelity Asset Manager 50% fund to a different fund? Thank you

  27. Alex Rodriguez

    Don't sleep on international

  28. sammysupreme

I can't really find this in Fidelity but are brokerage accounts free to start? I know depending on which fund i choose i'll have the expense ratio but just wanted to know if i set up accounts are free. also can i transfer money from 401k to brokerage account would i be penalized?

  29. Will Droes

Do any of these funds pay dividends? I’m just confused why it’d be better to go with one of these funds instead of the SPY ETF, since the returns on FXAIX are basically the same as the SPY but the SPY at least pays a dividend?

Question: Do most index funds start in this way, that is allow the investor to add the amount of money they choose, then when it becomes popular set a minimum amount to join the index.
