    I’ll sum up all the employee pay woes for every company in 2023:

    These companies are now taking advantage of the fact that they save more money by having a high turnover rate, versus retaining employees. That’s why UPS has a story that seems almost unbelievable……because the other 99% of us are with companies that don’t pay adequately.

    Don't get me wrong, I love the APWU. It is November and they have a game plan for 8 months from now. That is great, a lot can happen in 8 months, but please I don't want any pay increases for this contract, keep the COLAs coming. You can make more money by no pay increase because then your dues won't go up and your health care won't go up. Give us raises everything else goes up and we end up losing.

    No craft should make more than carriers and tto drivers they are the face of the post office starting pay should be $30 the mailhandler craft should be with the clerks

    Oh boy! 1.3%! Now I can pay the increase in my electric bill! No, wait – damn. My rent just went up $1200/year. That's more than 1.3% – it's a 7.25% increase in my rent costs and food prices are still not coming down. 50 bucks for two people to go out to eat if we are going to sit down. Groceries are $400 a month, so I have to buy cheaper food to keep costs manageable. Getting fatter because of it. Can't upgrade my computer without breaking the bank. Gas is at $4 per gallon, which is the lowest all year. Not like I drive anywhere but the union hall.
    All on my Postal Salary of $50K after busting my butt for four and a half years, two of which are not counted. No life but the Post Office. 11 years to go before I get a somewhat respectable pay to scrape the bottom of middle class in my area. I'll be 62.
    Why do we not have waves of hundreds of applicants beating down our door? All of the above and management abuse. They throw the contract over their shoulder, glare at us in challenge as they ignore grievances, RFIs, payouts, and dismiss anything stewards say. This company is coming apart at the seams in some areas and national tells us not to disclose what happens at RAP. FML, why did I choose a government job? I thought it would mean security and allow me to have days outside, talking to people, and serving my country. Now I get pushed to talk to no one, the weather/pandemic can be deadly, and I have half a route to do after mine's done.
    And they wonder why we talk about strikes, protests, and finding/creating new unions.

    We cant compare ourselves to UPS they profited 70+billion we on the other hand lost 6+ billion. Do we deserve a raise hell yeah but the post office is trying to stay afloat as it is

    Where i live the post office is one of the highest paying jobs, without a degree needed, but i can only imagine how hcol places are taking it. It must be a spit in the face

    As an MHA about to be converted (#13 on the seniority list) This MHA position should have a starting salary of $45k, then when you get converted its a $5k increase to $50k, then the steps begin and should only take no more than 10 years to reach top pay. Realistically 5-8 years would be nice. Heard it takes likes 12-15 years or something.
