Using an IRA in a 1031 Exchange

A 1031 Exchange is named for the Internal Revenue Code Section it’s named after and it’s used by real estate investors to defer taxes. Although an IRA is already a tax-advantaged account, a 1031 Exchange can be used if you sell a property that was purchased with a non-recourse loan.
