How to Maintain OSRS Membership Using Bonds

Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is a popular multiplayer online role-playing game that offers a vast and immersive world for players to explore. To access the full range of content and features, players need an active membership. While traditional payment methods are available, OSRS introduced a unique system known as Bonds to allow players to maintain their membership by utilizing in-game currency. In this article, we will explore how players can effectively maintain their OSRS membership using Bonds.

What are Bonds?
Bonds are in-game items that can be purchased or obtained through various means in OSRS. They function as a form of currency, allowing players to trade them to other players or sell them at the Grand Exchange, the game’s main trading hub. The key aspect of Bonds is that they can be redeemed for membership subscription time, effectively allowing players to sustain their membership for free using in-game wealth.

How to Acquire Bonds
There are multiple ways to acquire Bonds in OSRS. One way is by purchasing them directly from the official website or through authorized retailers. By using real money, players can convert their cash into Bonds, providing them with membership subscription time. Additionally, players can also acquire Bonds through in-game activities, such as treasure trails, monster drops, or as rewards from certain quests. This allows players to obtain Bonds without spending any real money, making it an appealing option for those seeking to maintain their membership through gameplay.

Managing In-Game Wealth
One of the key aspects of maintaining an OSRS membership using Bonds is effectively managing in-game wealth. As Bonds can be obtained through various activities, it is crucial to optimize your gameplay to accumulate wealth efficiently. Engaging in activities such as high-level monster slaying, completing challenging quests, or participating in resource-intensive skills like mining or fishing can yield substantial profits. By dedicating time and effort to these activities, players can accumulate in-game wealth, making it easier to purchase or trade for Bonds when needed.

Utilizing the Grand Exchange
The Grand Exchange is an integral aspect of the OSRS economy and serves as a central marketplace where players can buy and sell items, including Bonds. To effectively maintain membership using Bonds, it is essential to keep an eye on market prices and trade accordingly. By periodically monitoring the value of Bonds and understanding market trends, players can make informed decisions regarding when to purchase or sell their Bonds. This allows players to maximize their in-game wealth while minimizing expenses for membership subscription.

Community Trading and Engagement
OSRS boasts a vibrant and active player community, which can be advantageous when maintaining membership using Bonds. Players can engage in trading or negotiate deals with other players who are interested in experiencing membership benefits. By actively participating in community trading, players can potentially acquire Bonds at more favorable prices, ensuring a cost-effective membership maintenance strategy. Moreover, players can leverage social platforms, forums, or in-game clan chats to find like-minded individuals willing to trade or sell Bonds.

Conclusion
Maintaining an active membership in OSRS is crucial for players seeking to experience the full range of content and features the game offers. Bonds provide a unique and innovative way to sustain membership using in-game wealth. By strategically managing in-game wealth, utilizing the Grand Exchange, and engaging in community trading, players can effectively maintain their membership without relying solely on traditional payment methods. Embrace the power of Bonds and continue your exciting journey in the world of Old School RuneScape!

Having started a skiller account recently and coming fresh into OSRS with very little experience, I found a few methods I personally enjoy doing for a bit while making decent money. Obviously, as a skiller, there is no combat, so no lava dragons. Fletching is profit right off the bat. I simply trained my woodcutting and made arrow shafts until I hit 20 fletching, then bought enough feathers to make them into headless arrows. I then fletched the best unstrung bows all the way to 55, then stuck to maple longbows till level 70. Maple logs are currently worth nothing so maple longbows are fairly profitable, around 75-80 gp each.

The second method is the blast furnace. That place is incredible. Just complete the knight's sword quest so you can make steel bars. Those are profitable already. Once at 50 smithing, make mithril bars. Making them without any useful unlockable items is pretty good money, but if you get ice gloves, a coal back and full graceful, it's absolutely amazing and the money will roll in with very little effort.

Third, do not underestimate runecrafting. Guardian of the Rift made it a very easy skill to train. Still not the fastest ever, but you're guaranteed to make good money and you can work your way towards the runecrafting outfit. I got to 70 runecrafting in about 5 days, playing casually and even without runecrafting pouches. If you can get pouches, it's faster with better profit. Selling all the runes I made from that grind, I earned about 8 million.

Crafting was easy experience and money too. I didn't make bowstrings, instead I did gold jewelry in Edgeville. Gold rings can be crafted from level 7. Gold jewelry is similar profit to bowstrings, maybe a tiny bit better, but the experience is a lot higher. At 25 crafting you can make jade necklaces and those are pretty profitable. You typically double the money you put in. As a footnote, if you want to get some magic experience too, you can enchant them and increase your profits. This is probably the laziest, most profitable way to get to 56 magic for high alchemy.

Finally, farming. Treat it as the occasional break from whatever you spend your in-game time on. You can make money right off the bat, even before you unlock herbs. You'll need teleport tablets to Falador and Camelot. If you have 30 construction, relocate your house to Hosidius and get house teleport tablets too. Get 24 of the best allotment seeds you can plant. It won't matter for the money you make, so treat it as lazy experience. Always use ultracompost. Yes, even on the junk vegetables. Rake your patches. You'll want as many weeds as you can get and stuff them into the nearby compost bin. 15 compostable items are needed to fill it up. When everything is planted and the compost bin filled, the money making begins.

The trick for earning money with farming is really simple. You'll want to make ultracompost. Making ultracompost has no level requirements. Grab a bottomless compost bucket off the GE when you can and use ultracompost on everything. This increases the yield of your farming patches and drastically reduces the chance that your crops die. As for the ultracompost, until you can plant watermelons, you need compost potions. You also need 25 volcanic ash per compost bin. Sell your spare ultracompost for easy profit right off the bat. Sweetcorns are really nice here as you can plant a scarecrow and guarantee the sweetcorn never dies. You can do the same thing with watermelons, but you need to have fully grown nasturtiums in your flower patches. At 59 farming you can replace them with white lillies and then your allotments will never die again, no matter what you grow in them. Again, treat your farm runs as a nice little break. It's easy cash that only gets better as your farming level increases.

My little skiller is about 3 weeks in, has nearly 1000 total level, all dragon tools, a pharaoh's scepter, a regen bracelet and around 15 million cash. All without PvM and completely self sustained.
