    Years ago I went to an archive about emergency public response to a nuclear strike back in the 1980s

    They had pamphlets about stacking boxes and furniture against the doors, using mattresses and sandbags to layer up protection

    Using the smallest, most insulated room in the house to hole up inside, etc etc

    I looked around that museum thinking the idea of a nuclear threat was so far in the past and pretty sure I got a fridge magnet as a souvenir
