One piece of information that I think is important to convey is that each year, your RMD must be paid to a taxable account (such as your regular checking or savings account). You cannot perform a Roth Conversion and expect that to satisfy your RMD. If you want to make a Roth Conversion, you must first make a RMD that satisfies the RMD regulations, then after that is completed for that particular year, you can make a Roth Conversion. And, of course, both the RMD and Roth Conversion are taxable.

Hi! This is off-topic but my wife has both Philippine passport and Hong Kong passports. We are planning to travel to Europe next year and I was wondering if you can help me on the process of departing the Philippines and entering Europe using her Hong Kong passport since she can skip the Visa if she used it. Thank you so much!

The low response to this topic seems to be an indication that only a small percentage of Fil-Am retirees may have saved for a retirement nest egg and are dependent solely on SSA for their golden years. It is a sad situation, sad, sad, sad…

Good advice but it may be better to seek help from a trusted CPA or financial advisor. Everyone's situation is different

Do you know about the program to direct your RMD directly to a charity. It's not right for some people, but if you give a lot to charity, and you don't really need the RMD to live on, it will save you a lot in taxes and of course do a lot of good for the recipients. Don't take the money and then give it to charity. I have my financial advisor make the checks out to the charities, send to me, I send them in. I don't have to claim as income (saving taxes), get charitable deduction, and the RMD is satisfied.

Hello Kuya Danny. May I ask what fee or cost I can expect from a plan administrator? (approximately) Realizing of course that the fee structure will vary depending on the administrator that is chosen. Thanks for this information in this video. As it's extremely helpful to us.

Grandpa, please note: Roth IRA's account are not taxable, traditional IRA's are taxable.
