The only thing I don't like about the TSP is that even though their mission is for the customer to earn as much money as possible, they decided to limit the number of transactions you can make in a month to two (or three if the last one is to the G fund), which is killing me significantly as I know when to move my money in and out of the C fund in order to maximize growth. In that respect, I've "lost" thousands of dollars so that whoever is running the fund can make more money. Give us back our freedom of movement!
As to TSP Roth MRDs: I guess my question would become: Okay, I'm forced to withdraw X amount of money– What other financial "mechanism" to place it? (this Q is out of my league)
Dude. You are Totally talking my language! A 45- year- old guy I work with (USPS) told me recently he's "thinking of starting" his TSP (granted, we have "agency automatic" bare- bones starter- fund) But. My head nearly exploded. PLEASE, people. Fund your TSP as much as humanly possible, YESTERDAY, or sooner!
Where do you go to get fidelity or vanguard funds.
Withdrawal options are too limited. Can’t take just from G fund (cash) fund and leave C fund alone to work for the future.
Do you know if there is any plan to produce an Inverse Fund in TSP to be able to profit during a declining market?
Vanguard has lower fees
Transfers are a chore. No electrons involved. Only paper which leaves the money in limbo for several days. Also getting spousal signature and notarized takes time. Not ideal in 2021. Gotta plan well in advance. HAd one rejected today so now I start the more than 10 day process again! Otherwise I am a huge fan
Though not unique to the TSP, the 5% employer match is a nice perk!
