Recession – What It Is, How It Affects You, and What You Can Do About It

A recession is a period of economic decline that typically lasts for two or more consecutive quarters of a year. During this time, businesses slow down, profits fall, and many people lose their jobs.

Some of the causes of a recession include:

– A drop in consumer spending and confidence
– A decrease in business investment and profits
– A rise in inflation or interest rates
– A decrease in government spending

A recession can affect everyone, but some people are more vulnerable than others. Those who are living paycheck to paycheck or who have limited savings may struggle to make ends meet. Small business owners may have to lay off employees or close their businesses altogether. The real estate market may also suffer, making it difficult for those looking to buy or sell property.

So what can you do about a recession? While you may not be able to control external economic factors, there are steps you can take to weather the storm:

– Build up your savings. Having a nest egg can help you stay afloat during tough times.
– Cut back on non-essential spending. Take a hard look at your budget and see where you can save.
– Diversify your income. If you have a side hustle or a part-time job, it can help to have multiple streams of income.
– Stay informed. Keep up with news and trends in your industry and in the economy as a whole. This can help you make informed decisions about your finances.

Remember, a recession is usually temporary. By taking smart financial steps and staying focused on your goals, you can weather the storm and come out stronger on the other side.

My insulin will go crazy on this diet. I need animal protein. Went vegan plant based for 3 years and my hormones went crazy. Pre diabetic now. It’s ok to eat animal protein if you have to.
