2023: China Taiwan invasion, food crisis, gas/energy crisis 2.0, draught in Europe 2.0, covid round X (stopped counting at this point), inflation + another 8%, Ukraine war dragging on, cyberattack on European infrastructure with some very inconvinient consequences, 2 new prime ministers and one new king for Britain, Germanys chancellor quits/has to resign over some tax scandal but finds a new job at Cosco, Elon Musk buys Reddit, oh and Eugene Victor Tooms returns.

Every year has been worse than the previous one since 2013.

  13. hiricinee

If we don’t have a MASSIVE drop in November/December, 2023 is going to be a trip to the bottom followed by a VERY slow recovery.

  14. Kind_Bullfrog_4073

2023 will be a good year. Odd years are good even years are bad at least since 2017

Lots of ups and downs I think rather than just constant down. Probably go flat for 2023.

People love to pretend the world is ending. Then they go home, watch Netflix, and eat Oreos until they fall asleep.

China is a paper tiger, they have shit loads of issues themselves, and their tech is old 70s Soviet, I wouldn’t worry about it.

  23. Breadman42000

I read on Bloomberg yesterday that China is buying as much oil as it can until the end of the year…

Xi has assembled a congress of war hawks, and has vowed to replace the West as the center of world power, so yes, it could get interesting. If he takes Taiwan, he will try to take everything around the nine-dash-line. Sleepy Joe and his crack head son Hunter love China, and surely we have some kind of brilliant military strategic plan, so I’ll sleep well tonight.
