Do you make videos about the Halo game franchise??? You sound very familiar.

I'm in Richmond, TX just a few hours away and love me some $JEPI

Hi Jake, let me start by saying I really enjoy your video content concerning dividends. Your very informative and I’ve learned allot. I notice in your portfolio you don’t have apple or Microsoft, is it because they have a low dividend yield and not paying allot in dividend and it doesn’t meet your time horizon of 5 years? Question; If you were in your 50’s and had a time horizon of 5-7 years would you invest in apple or Microsoft? From what I can see or research is the yield is low and you have to have allot of money invested to see any movement. I also notice basically every YouTube channel stress that you must have these two stocks no matter what. What would be your take on the matter. I would love to hear your response. Thanks and keep up the great video content.

    Happy holidays

Random comment. Do you know about this dividend AAPL declared for Jan for 0.17? Is this a special dividend? Can’t seem to find anything useful on the internet.

As a British Citizen, we can no longer invest in U.S ETFs such as SCHD/VOO which is a real shame.

Don’t spoil him. Let him cry. When he sees he’s not getting what he wants then he will calm down

Unless you guys and gals constructing your ETF dividend portfolios are only planning on paying bills every 3 months, diversify with pay schedules as well. I'm consistently seeing these portfolios with multiple ETFs that pay in the same month.

Hi i investing in BNS, VZ and BTI i start only this year… they are good options now?? Am 31 years, grettings from chile

If my dividends were that low I’d be selling anything that’s not a true long term or king

I don’t agree with the belief that your portfolio is more risky if you have a position over 5%. Imagine a person that owns a bunch of businesses outright says “Ya I own 30 businesses to diversify my risk”. That is basically the business owner saying he doesn’t know what he is doing. And the same goes for portfolios.

I can’t believe I missed the “Christmas Miracle”! Now that’s discipline, Jake! Hope you’re enjoying the holiday weekend!

May I have your opinion? I live in Singapore and for dividend etf such as SCHD there is a dividend withholding tax of 30% implemented during every payout . Do you think in the long run of about 20 years the pro outweighs the con ?

    Congrats on the 50K!

Also, fwiw I think the 3rd scenario I would personally lean towards a modified 3). Clip SPYD and put it in SCHD, and adjust the JEPx like you suggested.
    ie:
    SCHD: 45%
    VYM: 25%
    DGRO: 20%
    JEPI/JEPQ: 5% ea

I always like your review my pie videos. I like to see what other investors invest their money in.

Of course you do know that everyday your child ages so do you!!! To think my 3 are 29 and 25 yrs old, I say I sure have aged. Then when you have two at one time you stop having them!!

I hope you had a Merry Christmas when you see it through the eyes of a child and the gleam in their eyes makes it all worth while.

    Hi Jake,
Is VNQ recommended to be added initially to a portfolio for someone with a long-term horizon (5+ years) or would it be preferable to add it towards the end given its somewhat slow(er) growth? Thanks.

  15. Chris K

Is there a recent update on your portfolio composition? Would like to see where you are at.

  16. Michael Schmidig

Why wouldn’t you want your dividend yield to be above 2%?

Im looking for a really high yielding consistent bond fund. Do you know any good ones? I've heard of VCLT and BLV
