    Hi Paul, with our country current situation I don't think 401k is good for everyone for tax purposes. Have you look at US national debts lately? Last year US was 22 trillion in debts but this year it went up to 26 trillion. Social Security is running out, what do you it think of our future taxes? Wouldn't it be higher? Why defer tax now when you might have to pay higher tax bracket in the future. When I learned about taxes, I realized it better to invest into a plan where it will give you a retirement that is taxed-free
