Increasing the Spirit Factor: Trist3 WTF?! Sales in TFT Fates | Teamfight Tactics

If you watched me this weekend, there were really two comps I kind of centered on; Fortune and Spirit. This was a much more traditional Spirit game than yesterdays video, using the typical Diana and Tristana and Lockets…but there’s a twist here that actually caused me to sell the Tristana3 and it was the CORRECT DECISION. Hopefully that makes this worth the watch!

More Spirit? Selling a Trist3 WTF?! | TFT Fates | Teamfight Tactics

Teamfight Tactics Fates has brought a plethora of new mechanics, traits, and champions to the popular auto-battler game. With each new set, players are given the opportunity to explore fresh strategies and find ways to conquer the ever-changing meta. One of the standout mechanics of TFT Fates is the introduction of the Spirit trait, which has made waves in the community with its unique playstyle.

The Spirit trait in TFT Fates revolves around the concept of gaining “More Spirit” as the round progresses. When you have more Spirit, your allies’ basic attacks will deal bonus magic damage. Additionally, if an ally with Spirit trait kills or participates in killing an enemy, all allies gain attack speed for a few seconds. This unique buff can have a significant impact on the outcome of fights, making Spirit-based compositions incredibly deadly.

One champion that has caught the attention of many players is Tristana, a 1-cost champion who belongs to the Spirit trait in TFT Fates. With her recent overhaul in patch 10.24, Tristana has become a crucial piece in Spirit compositions.

But here’s the intriguing part – players are now starting to sell their Tristana with 3 stars, commonly referred to as Trist3. It may seem counterintuitive to let go of a fully upgraded champion, but there is a method to this madness.

The reason behind selling Trist3 revolves around utilizing the More Spirit mechanic effectively. As the round progresses, players will eventually reach a point where they can reliably gain the More Spirit buff without the need for Tristana’s Spirit trait. By selling Trist3, players open up a space on their board for another champion who can add more value to the composition. This decision allows players to increase their overall power level and explore alternative strategies to secure victory.

The practice of selling Trist3 has quickly become a highly debated topic in the TFT community. Some argue that selling a fully upgraded champion with potentially excellent stats is largely wasteful. They believe that holding onto Trist3 can ensure a steady damage output throughout the game, especially if the player does not have access to ideal Spirit units.

On the other hand, proponents of selling Trist3 argue that the loss of one champion is a small price to pay for the potential power spike gained by including a more synergistic unit. It becomes a strategic decision of sacrificing the individual power of Tristana for the synergistic power of the team as a whole.

Ultimately, the decision to sell Trist3 comes down to evaluating the current state of the game, assessing the strength of the composition, and understanding the potential gains from alternative units. It requires careful consideration and adaptability as players must be willing to deviate from established strategies to adapt to the dynamic meta of TFT Fates.

More Spirit? Selling a Trist3 may seem like an unconventional move, but it represents the evolution of strategic thinking in the ever-evolving world of TFT Fates. With each passing set, players are challenged to push boundaries, experiment with new compositions, and discover innovative strategies to dominate the competition. The decision to sell a fully upgraded champion like Trist3 reflects the ingenuity and adaptability that defines the spirit of TFT Fates.
