What if you pay 10K per year in income tax, but earn -10% on the 8K you put in per year?

It's horrifying to think that somebody at this age doesn't know what a 401k actually is, how the money inside it works, how compounding and percentages work, what bonds are, what social security is. My god I didn't think people are actually like this
Procrastinating and not starting one as soon as I was eligible was not the best move. It's really not that hard to open an account and manage yourself. And you can also have your brokerage manage it for you. If you're reading this, start now.

Okay, I heard that we shouldn't put gross things like snickerdoodles in our cookie jars.
Does the match count torwards our 15% for example if i contribute 10the 5they give makes 15
Since loosing my job what has been helping me is my investment in ETFs and penny stocks, mutual funds all accounting for over $ 7k monthly dividends still one of my best decisions in life
