This is one of your best videos Josh…and I’ve seen a LOT of them!

Btw, this is Tom Michael. I’ll let anyone who cares that I hired you for a financial review mainly focused on Roth Conversions. Your advice was very helpful!

In this specific video you reference how it’s OK to have some money in cash (money market). I’m glad to hear this since I do!

Happy belated birthday Josh! Couldn’t agree more with the end of the video, be humble and grateful. I spent all day today watching my 1 year old granddaughter, what a blessing!

I heard you mention "news" about the "need" to have $1.7 million to retire in a video (or in the live stream last night!), but now it's making the "circuit" of fear-mongering "news" outlets; USA Today (July 8), for example: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/07/07/how-much-does-retirement-cost-1-million-magic-number/1669433001/

Headline states that it's from a "study." However, read on, and it's actually from a Charles Schwab "survey… which looked at 1,000 401(k) plan participants nationwide." Not a "study" after all, just a survey! Now, just what did this stud… er, survey, "look" at? Were participants asked to respond to a questionnaire (not scientific on its face, then, if only those who like to respond to surveys responded)? Were 1000 participants picked at random? Did Schwab simply look at 1000 participants' 401k investment balances held by Schwab (or include other savings and investments by these "participants")? Was there a reason or reasons cited by "participants" for arriving at the $1.7 million number? How far apart were the numbers given by participants to arrive at this average (your favorite measure!)? Bottom-line question: What's the scientific/analytic basis for the so-called "study/survey" that results in the magic total? Until the reader knows this, the article is simply free advertising for Charles Schwab: "Between just you and me: Invest with Schwab, and we'll get you that $1.7 million!"
